Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryIn this project we are trying to avoid the green house layer by reducing the flue gasses form our atmosphere. we all know about the gas turbine power plant and cement plants which has the highest amount of flue gasses. we can use those flue gasses by using it in waste heat recovery boiler and protect our enviroment and increase the efficiency of any power plant. beacuse every power plant requied a boiler for generating steam which moves the steam turbine. if we use flue gasses insted of coal in boiler so we can make exrta electricity and protect our enviroment from harmfull gasses.
Project ObjectivesThe main objective of our project are as follows,
- The Waste Heat Recovery Boilers as the name suggests, the heat going waste from the process like flue gases of Diesel Generator sets is utilized in these boilers to generate hot water or steam.
- To use the exhausted heat and flue gasses for the generation of electricity.
- To reduse the load from thermal power plant, gas power plants and nuclear power plants as they burn fuel to produce electricity .
- To reuse the heat of boilers for the production purpose.
- To minimize the temperature of flue gasses, which is harmfull for both, enivironment as well as ozone layer.
- Remember energy is precious, even small saving in energy cost will save you a lot of money which can usually be seen over a period of 1 year.
In this project our main motive is to Secure the environment by means of reducing the flue gasses and their harmful effects on the environment as well as on ozone layer. Our this motive can be achieve by implementing the waste heat recovery boiler on the exhaust end of the boilers and power plants. The temperature of exhausted gasses from large scale gas turbine whose production capability is 40 to 50MW is 1100 F which is 593.333°C. Which is too much hazardeous for the health and environment. After applying Waste heat recovery boiler, which has three modes. High temperature waste heat recovery boiler can work on more than 400°C and the medium temperature range is 100-400°C and the low temperature range is 100°C . So after successfull installation of Waste heat recovery boiler we will be able to reduce the flue gasses temperature upto 100°C.

- It will electricity with low cost as it produce it by using exhausted gasses which is released in enivronment before the installation of waste heat recovery boiler.
Started with the material selction that which material is suitable for the required Pressure and temperature. Mild steel is suitable for that. First we take a hollow metallic tube, we will take 2 steels plates according to the inner diameter of hollow metallic tube, then we make holes on both steel plates, We joint all the tubes on steel plates with the help of gas welding and inserting it into the Hollow metallic tube, making it a vessel. On the one side their be combustion chamber where the Burner is placed with the blower, providing the thermal energy, passing through the tubes of the Vessel.
On the other side of the vessel there will be a funnel, covering the tubes of the vessel making the path for the used gases to be further used in the economizer and passing through the chimney and releasing to the atmosphere.
After welding and made up of vessel with tubes , the fire burner is attached with the vessel along with its other equipments. Then different electronic and manual valves is attached where necessary and chimney for the flue gasses. Water Lines and steam lines with valves are made operational and sensors is installed for the measuring purpose. Then after Completion it is tested for the perfection.
It is best Solution for the utilization of fuel gasses and to produce low cost energy and to protect environment from hazardeous gasses as well. The best part about it is that it can operate on low temperature of flue gasses such as 100°C.
