Project Summary

During the time of Covid-19 whole world was in great crisis and many businesses were shut down but after some time few restrictions were lifted with sop’s being followed. Hence the try rooms of the clothing brands were closed and the customers were forced to buy clothes without trying and experiencing the feeling of new cloth before buying. This need of time brought the idea of Virtual Try Room to ease the problems of the customers of this sector. This application scans the body of a person and after creating a 3D mesh, it applies the article on to the customer’s body and displays it.. The algorithm used is an open source and the application is developed using React Native Framework.     

Project Objectives

This project is to make trying on clothes hassle free by converting it to a virtual environment in which the customer has to stand in front of a screen and select his desired cloth. During this process the system will take pictures of the person using a camera, make a 3D Mesh of that person, add the selected cloth onto the 3D mesh and display it to the customer.

Project Implementation Method

  • The customer enters the in the retail clothing store.
  • Stands In front of  Virtual Try Room.
  • The customer clicks on the start button.
  • The Virtual Try Room App will start and ask the customer his size.
  • The system will search for the articles according to the size selected by the customer from the inventory.
  • The system will then scan the customer’s body to create a 3D mesh.
  • After scanning, the system will display the articles according to the size selected.
  • The customer will be asked to select the desired article.
  • The system will apply the selected article onto the customer’s 3D mesh generated and will display onto the screen.
  • The customer leaves.
