Project Summary

Our virtual tour of University of South Asia will be a simulation of an existing location, usually composed of a sequence of videos, still images, and 360-degree images. It will be a marketing tool that can help in bringing new customers and clients to the business. Today is the era of advancement and a virtual tour is being the best way to accurately show what the location really looks like and people will be more interested in 3D views.

We will implement that part of virtual tour on a responsive website with some dummy content of University of South Asia. Some of the portion of that website or web-based portal will be redirect to the university official website through hyper-links.

The website will have 2 aspects both public and private. Everyone will easily visit this web-based portal/website and even virtually visit the full University to experience this place, and get necessary information. The one who will interested in more details like take admissions, or detailed info of something else related to University will first register then enter after login. 

This website will have proper front-end and back-end(database) that records user data. The admin on backend will handle and manage it.

Project Objectives

The main objective of making this project is that due to the COVID-19 situation many people are stuck in their homes so they even can’t visit the University campus to see its ambiance and overall campus location, it’s environment and everything. So, that’s why we will provide a complete campus tour virtually on a proper responsive website (web portal) along with some other features. We make a proper responsive website with university dummy content and put the major part of our project Virtual Tour of University Campus in it. The website will be properly design with complete & attractive front-end and back-end(database) that will be handled by admin.

Another objective to design this project is that many students that are out of city so they cannot come to visit the University place physically so they will virtually visit the University Campus. Even many students who are from another city and take admission in University their parents will easily visit that place to get satisfaction regarding their child's future and security in the University campus.

Project Implementation Method

We will implement our project in two parts that are as follows:-

1) We will collect data in form of 360 images from whole university campus using the following tools: 

• DSLR for taking images and videos
• 360 rotating tripod
• 360 rotator
• Drones
• Laptop Core I7 with Graphic card

We use Tools for the 360 view in this project will include:

• Cloudpano
• 3Sixty
• Maripano
• Vtility
• Google street view
• Theata+

2) The second part is making a responsive website and for this purpose the tools and frontend language we will use are:

• Laravel
• HTML5
• Bootstrap
• CSS
• Javascript
• PHP
• WordPress

And for backend purpose to store the data of users we use database(SQLite) that will be manage by admin.

Benefits of the Project

By making this product the university will take advantage from it. We will sell this product to this university as they will use this on their official university website which will definitely be convenient for their audience/users to virtually experience the university campus and university life.

It will also proof beneficial because due to the COVID-19 situation many people are stuck in their homes that they even can’t visit the University campus. So, they will easily visit university even without pyhsical presence.

It will be beneficial for the students that are from out of city, they cannot come to visit the University place physically so, they will virtually visit the University Campus. Even many students who are from another city and take admission in University their parents will easily visit that place to get satisfaction regarding their child's future, security in the University campus and overall University life.

It will also help these people coming from out of station to save their travelling expense that they will only do to visit university campus.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A comprehensive virtual tour, able to show the whole view of university (360view, 3D walkthrough) that moves through all the areas, buildings and departments. The area covered would be mainly the Overall view of the university with possible additional areas to include:

• • Departments with classes details.
  • The Admission office with cabin detail and admission information.
  • The Faculty area with cabin detail.
  • Computer lab includes seating capacity
  • The library includes seating capacity and membership details.
  • Café includes seating capacity with café menu.
  • Parking lot with detail of its capacity
• Departments tour with details:  This section provides the virtual tour and details of department name, Rooms details with their  seating capacity, projector and Air conditioner detail.
• Admission office tour with details: This section provides the virtual tour and details of the cabin, Admission details, students affairs
• Faculty area tour with details: This section provides the virtual tour and details of Wings with faculty cabins details (cabin number and teacher name, Rooms details with their  seating capacity, projector and Air conditioner detail
• Library tour with details: This section provides the virtual tour and details of Library, Seating capacity and membership details.
• Cafeteria tour with details: This section provides the virtual tour and details of cafeteria menu, Faculty and students seating area detail
• Parking lot tour with details: This section provides the virtual tour and details of the total capacity of parking cars and bikes
• Alumni and achievements: This section provides two web sections in the website in which the first section provides details of the university alumni and the second section provides the details of university achievements.
• Societies and events section: This section provides two web sections in the website in which the first section is about the societies of the university and the second one provides the details of past and upcoming events.

It will also include website as a final product deliverable which has different roles:

1) Super Admin.

2)  3 to 4 other admin roles like (Librarian, Cafeterian, Achievements, etc).

3) Admission form with proper data storage at backend database.

4) Feedback and comment section.
