When vehicles come in range of each other they get automatically connected to each other. In V2V, we eliminate the excessive cost of traffic collisions. A vehicle can become a abnormal vehicle due to its own mechanical failure or due to unexpected road hazards. The vehicle to vehicle communication are promising to dynamically reduce the number of fatal road way accidents by providing early warning. A system that also helpful for to minimize traffic congestion problems which also helpful for taking certain action on vehicle by obtaining collision warning alert.
In general, the abnormal behavior can be detected using the sensors within the vehicle. Using sensors to detect the exact real time road problems. Traffic congestion problem faced the most typical regional congestion exists in the areas where the third ring road and fourth ring road intersect with the high speed expressway to the National Airport.
The main concern is that collaborative road safety applications need to be widely tested with vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communications. So, In lane change, all connected vehicles are sharing drive information in real-time, which improves the vehicle's awareness regarding the surrounding traffic environment. The performance of forward collision avoidance under emergency events, which is a representative collaborative road safety application, is analysed.
Autonomous vehicles and connected vehicles are promising technologies to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion.
Project ObjectivesThe main objective of the project is vehicle to vehicle communication based on information sharing system. To solve traffic congestion problem with characterize road traffic congestion conditions under different traffic scenarios. All connected vehicles are sharing drive information on real-time based. The primary goals of v2v communication are:
- Solve Traffic Congestion Problem
- Lane Change
- Intersection Collision
- Sudden Brake
Implementation of the control algorithms is done by using PyCharm. It is very powerful software. But the reason for choosing this software are customizes with themes and plugins, to enhance productivity. Implementation of the system is done using Raspberry Pi, Ultrasonic sensors, NRF24L01 sensors, Communication sensors. SciPy also has an add-on called Real-Time Workshop that enables python code generation. This is used to build the developed software and convert it to machine code so that it can be run on the RC module.
Benefits of the ProjectVehicle to Vehicle communication is being used in connected networks to reduce traffic congestion, lane change safety, eliminate intersection collision improve passengers' safety and efficient mangement of vehicles on roads. It will warn drivers of the oncoming dangers especially while turning at intersections or lane change.
