VEHICLE INFORMATION & MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary Here we present a complete Transport Information System that facilitates the travelers to choose their comfortable transport, reduce ravel time by guiding them to travel through a shortest path to go their desired destination. Users can access this system through different available and flexible media. The comparison between the existing status of research and development of Transport Information System and the system that we proposed indicate that yet we can enhance and improve the service through many different ways based on the availability and applications of current technology, equipment and resources. The limitations and future visions discussed here provide a complete guideline in these concerns. Project ObjectivesThe main objective of this application is to automate the complete operations of the goods transporter office. In current system all work is getting done manually. User have to manage many things, so it is very difficult to manage this business doing work manually. Using this system user can automate many transport operation like billing, tracking payments, creating report etc. Using this system keeping records of transportation is easy. User can find any old records in few clicks. User can also generate old delivery reports and other report easily. They need maintain hundreds of thousands of records. Also searching should be very faster so they can find required details instantly.
The main objectives of this system are:
- To provide best services to their Employee/passenger.
- Increasing working capacity, accuracy in calculation.
- Better maintenance of the organization resources.
- To register and keep the information about all vehicles.
- To build up a system that provides and generates the summary.
- Report from the database records in order to get the whole view about the vehicles amounts.
- Summarize the accidental records and responds for the further improvements.
- A web-based tool where user can search for additional information of the vehicle.
- It needs the different calculation of bus different cities of different the different age staff and different class of employee.
- It helps the staff/employee to travel peacefully.
- Up-to-date information accessibility and many more .
We implemented the system as web service so that any third party can use our system in their own application. The system is implemented using PHP and Visul Basic language. Database is designed with MYSQL and Microsoft Access 2010 and Auto CAD used for map manipulation e. To implement the application for SMS Engines smstools Software is used that can send and receive SMS messages via a GSM modem and GSM phones. It supports windows COM port which can be used to connect with the GSM phone.
To visualize the path direction we drew a GIF image on which we highlighted the optimum path and provide Transport information. We also built up SMS engine to provide the service through SMS. This engine takes a SMS and then decodes it to pass Source and Destination to the web service.
Companies interested in offering employee transportation benefits for their workers have a many selections when it comes to designing a program. They can:
• Participate in a Qualified Transportation Fringe Benefit program by allowing workers to set aside pre-tax dollars to cover transit or vanpool costs or by subsidizing the expense for their workers and deducting the costs as an employee benefit
• Partner with local transportation providers to educate employees about alternative transportation options they can use to commute to work
• Become a member of a transportation management association, a nonprofit membership organization representing employers and business leaders seeking to ease traffic congestion and lower reliance on single-occupant commuting
• Support ridesharing among employees by sponsoring carpools, shuttles, or vanpools
• Designate a staff person to represent an Employee Transportation Coordinator
• Partner with other local employers to form a transportation consortium and jointly support shared ride selections or access discounted transit passes for employees
• Offer telecommuting and flex-time schedules to help lessen traffic congestion and related air pollutants
USER REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATIONS
The User Requirements Specification describes the business needs for what users require from the system. User Requirements Specifications are written early in the validation process, typically before the system is created. They are written by the system owner and endusers, with input from Quality Assurance. Requirements outlined in the URS are usually tested in the Performance Qualification or User Acceptance Testing. User Requirements Specifications are not intended to be a technical document; readers with only a general knowledge of the system should be able to understand the requirements outlined in the URl.
Introduction – including the scope of the system, key objectives for the project, and the applicable regulatory concerns
Program Requirements – the functions and workflow that the system must be able to perform
Data Requirements – the type of information that a system must be able to process
Life Cycle Requirements – including how the system will be maintain users requirement.
APPLICATION DESIGN
USERS: The major functionality of this product is divided into four categories.
1. Administrative User Functions. 2. Approvers Functions. 3. Transport Functions. 4. Guest Functions.
In this application each and every user must having their own User ID and Password, using these User ID and Password only they can directly enter into their corresponding Login forms.
DOMAIN REUIREMENTS
Requirements can cause substantial problems in large software projects if not handled correctly and efficiently. The problems of missing requirements or incorrect descoping of projects are virtually the most prominent ones.
:SYSTEM REUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
Should describe functional and non-functional requirements so that they are understandable by system users who don?t have detailed technical knowledge. User requirements are defined using natural language, tables and diagrams.
:Software Requirement Specification Programming Languages : Java (jdk1.5).
Web Technologies : Html, JavaScript.
Database : Mysql
Server : Tomcat Apache 5.0 .
Technical Design Documentation
Efficacy of Documentation
Documentation is used here to mean hard copy, online documents, online help, quick start guides, and other written instructional information. The need for documentation is often an afterthought when designing products. Product development engineers are so enmeshed in creating the product that they feel its use is "intuitive" or self-evident. This assumption is usually not the case. In many respects, documentation compensates for the lack of intuition. It permits understanding the product and provides a quick source for looking up specific details that are not immediately obvious to the user
