In a day to day life, the demand for electricity is much higher than the production of electrical energy. One of the major problems ever is that the natural resources are going to finish one day. As we realize that the fossil fuel will finish one day. The wind is a renewable energy source. The main motive behind this project are

Project Implementation Method

When the Air produced by the velocity of the vehicle, strikes on the blade of VAWT, which rotates the shaft, the shaft is connected with the Axial Flux Generator, that will produce AC current, we have to store this current in the battery, so for this, we will pass this current through the rectifier and charge controller, that will give the DC current, that will store in the 12V battery, the inverter is used to convert this DC into AC for the street lighting or road electricity requirements.

Axial Flux Generator: We are designing the Axial Flux Generator, This generator has two rotors and a stator, the rotor and stator are not physically connected. The rotor has magnets and the stator has coils, our stator has 9-12 no. of coils and each of the Cu coils has almost 400 turns. The no. of turns has a direct relation with the voltage. So when the rotor rotates on a shaft above the ring of stator coils, electricity is generated by the principle of faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. And this current is AC in nature, which will be in the input for the rectifier.

Rectifier and charge controllers:  A rectifier is a device that converts the AC current into DC, we are using a full-wave rectifier that has 4 diodes, we are using the simple silicon diodes, that will drop the voltage about 1.4V approx., while the charge controller is MPPT, a charge controller is limiting the rate at which electric current is added to or drawn from the battery. The charge controller is used to protect against overvoltage and overcharging, which will ultimately save or increase the life of the battery. Secondly, MPPT will convert the input voltage to approximately 14V, so that our 12V battery can charge easily.

Battery: We are using a 12V battery to store DC energy, we will convert this DC into AC so that we can use it easily.

Inverter: A power inverter, or inverter, is an electronic device or circuitry that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). The input voltage, output voltage, and frequency, and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry. The inverter does not produce any power; the power is provided by the DC source.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We did a simple simulation of the turbine, The no. of coils of the axial flux generator is connected with the rectifier, the rectifier is connected with the MPPT and the MPPT will be connected with the battery. The current and voltage sensors are used to find the current and voltages and the Arduino will display the values of current and voltage at the LCD.
Our turbine will take at almost 6 ft in height and 4-5 ft in width, and the turbine will run almost 200-300W Load.
