Towards Intelligent Remote Building Management System
This system focuses on the techniques of sensor integration, remote monitoring, internet of things and communication protocols. The sensors take input from the environment, which is then translated into a language understandable by the controller. According to the IIC protocol, the controller acts as a master and sensors as slaves. Sensors send data to controller when the controller asks (master-slave communication). The controller takes this information and further sends it to the cloud/internet through a router. From there, all of this information is sent to a Human Machine Interface (HMI). The user can then monitor the system from anywhere in the world.
This project paves a way for further research in the field of Building Automation, so that the environment of the building is automatically controlled.

Most of the Building Management Systems that exist today use Programming Logic Controllers (PLCs) as controllers, which limit the monitoring and control of the system to a fixed control room. Hence, the advantage of implementing a Building Management System through Internet of Things (IoT) is that it allows remote monitoring and control of the data. Building Management Systems when combined with Internet of Things, make up a system that reduces waste of resources and operating costs without compromising user’s comfort.
