To Design and Develop a material distribution system OR a ratio controller for dying industry using PLC and HMI
Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryTheir are 3 sub-containers filled with primary colors (RYB) and placed at a height.. HMI ask user what seconday color to produce (options of colors are displayed) and how much to produce. Once answerd, the valves of sub-containers open one by one and the primary colors flow into the main container which is placed at lower level. The flow is controlled i.e. in a specific ratio that was requied to produce that particular secondary color. Once the required ingredients in the desired quantity as per the pre-defined reciepe are in the main container , the mixture motor turns on and mixes everything. After mixing, the main container gets clean by the help of pump moter. after emptying the main container into another one, all the system resets. The phenomenon of color flowing from sub-containers to main containers can be seen on the HMI in real time. and the whole process after the selection of secondary color and quantity is automated by the help of PLC.
Project ObjectivesTo design a color production system that takes primary colors (RYB) as input and give a list of secondary colors as output by a simple 1 minute touch process from a user friendly GUI. Also the production is in the quantity that was asked by the user while ensuring the controlled flow of each primary color as per the recipe with high accuracy and monitoring facility.
Project Implementation MethodSiemens PLC is used for logical decisions and Simens HMI for user friendly GUI and for live tracking of the process. Valves and Pumps are used for the flow of fluid from sub-container to main container and than to emptying container. A structure of wood and Aluminum is created of two floors for placement of all the 5 containers. For mixing, a motor is used. And to detect the fluid level, flow rate concept is developed without any use of sensor or smart device.
Benefits of the Project- Automated ratio controller, can be used in dying industries, chemical industries, pharmaceutical industries or any other place where ingredients combine in a specific ratio to obtain final product.
- Ensure high accuracy.
- Easy to use, even a layman can operate.
- Saves time, a simple 30 second touch process is needed.
- Live tracking of the process through HMI animations.
implemented by simple devices without the use of smart device like real time sensors, that saves cost.
