Project Summary

We have made the project " Three Phase Power Theft Detection Using A Wireless System" for controlling the electricity theft in our country and also to cutdown the electricity bills of authentic consumers. What we wanted from this was that people should be aware of what they spend, because some people work really hard to put a meal on their table for themselves and their kids and they don’t deserve to get robbed like that. We provided  a user friendly system that they can easily be used, and people to know where their money is really going and are they spending it on themselves or someone else who is stealing their electricity without them not having a single clue about it. Some companies are made from blood sweat and tears and they are the ones that are most effected in this case. Since they use machineries so their electricity bills are generally higher than that of residential places. These companies are the easiest to steal from because of their vast network of lines spreading throughout the acquired area.

Project Objectives

Our fundamental goal is to bring reform to the electricity theft situation in our city and our country. We tend to do so by making a wireless theft system on basis of (GSM).

Electricity theft is a major crime in our country where people don’t get what they pay for. A common man/woman when see his/her electricity bill is shocked not due to the fact that the price of their respective bill is high but they get curious that when did they use this amount of energy to get a bill of this stature.

Our project is comprised of three things. Efficient, Easy to work with and cost-effective, Easy to work means small in size thus allowing small enterprises and companies to use it without it allocating a large space of their work environment. Our project's basic purpose is to be within the reach of Industrial aswell as residential users.

Project Implementation Method

In this project, the reading of the transformer is compared with the readings of the houses to see if there is any difference between them both, if there is electricity is being stolen. The main transformer tells the units consumed, its voltage and power factor of each house which is displayed on a LCD and sensed by ACS712 sensor. After that the house reading is compared with the transformer reading and a message is sent to the mobile phone of the person regarding his units of electricity from which he can tell that whether his/her electricity is being stolen or not.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

1. Mesage recieved of units consumed through GSM.

2. Units, Voltage, Power Factor displayed on LCD.

3. Units are measured in KWH.

4. Programming done on Arduino Uno.
