Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryIn this project we generate 3phase of 310Vpp by intelligent power module (IPM) to drive a permanent magnet brushless direct current (BLDC) motor in open loop mode through a microcontroller. We also use internet of things (IOT) to control and monitor the RPM, current power and other important parameter of BLDC motor of machine. IPM is used because of the high voltage isolation from controller and also used to resolve complex gate parameters of positive side IGBT’s. Initially the source of 220Vrms is connected to the rectification and capacitive circuit to make 310V DC then connected to IPM through current measuring circuit now the IPM produces the 3 phases for BLDC motor on the basis of microcontroller PWM at 6 input terminals of IPM. Microcontroller generates these phase-logical PWM on the basis current, Voltage and program algorithm (based on load scenario). The controller also sends the important monitoring data to the monitor’s location wirelessly. The purpose of this project to build a universal smart and efficient electronic hardware to control the torque and RPM of high-power BLDC motors for industries and other domestic power efficient purpose.

- The purpose of this project to build a universal smart and efficient electronic hardware to control the torque and RPM of high-power BLDC motors for industries and other domestic power efficient purpose.
- Ease of control should be possible in the starting, stopping, changing the direction of rotation and speed varying of BLDC motor
- In some field, control of BLDC motor cannot be done directly
- This led to drive the BLDC motor within a low power consumption
- IPM based BLDC drive upto 500w
- comparision of performance and power efficiency between induction and BLDC on refrigration system
