Introduction:

In this project we are going to make a system which detects thief and provides surveillance to the owner. We are developing an (Internet of Things) IoT based mobile application through which we can receive an alert during presence of intruder if the system is activated we can also monitor current state of that specific place by Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) which works on the infrared (IR) waves emitting through the human body. An IoT based android application sends and receives data through cloud data base which is Firebase.

Project Objectives

There are many competitors in the market which are providing theft detection system but they have some limitations like they are only providing sockets sensors which can only triggers alarm if the intruder is present but our system is totally different from existing system because we can also monitor our home from anywhere in the world just by using IoT technology.

Project Implementation Method

The whole project is comprised of three different things. The first one is prototype in which all the hardware, sensor and microcontroller were integrated, the second one is an android mobile application of the prototype and the third one is google firebase a cloud database through which android application and prototype will be communicate. A PIR sensor will be mounted in the prototype by a microcontroller NodeMCU ESP8266. In microcontroller we will develop an algorithm if the intruder is detected, sensor forwards that particular data to mobile application and alert will be send to mobile application according to algorithm that is programmed in the microcontroller. The system not only sends alert to the android application it will also close the main gate of the home by servo motor.
