Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject Summary“The Dead Shore” is Perception Neuron based motion graphical film that is designed using various 3D computer graphics/animation software, Perception Neuron MOCAP suit, Faceware, Mics and Camera. To generate a combination of real life footages and and graphically designed scenes with our designed characters and animation that will be used and combined together. Moreover, to fabricate an animation close to the reality, syncing it with visual effect toolsets.
Project ObjectivesWe assume to formulate real-time rendering and animation in our Perception Neuron based animation project. To deploy the features that integrates actual footages with the realistic-looking animations, simulating real life scenarios in this motion film. The Objective is to utilize MOCAP suit and Faceware such a way that give more real impact to the animated film by calibrating the suit and the faceware precisely with it’s respective plugin then giving our motions and expressions to our designed characters.
Project Implementation MethodThe Perception Neuron Suit is calibrated using Axis Neuron plugin, Crazy talk is used to design head/face of a character, entire body is designed through Character Creator, scenes are created on iClone 7 and to make a film, combination of animation and real footages is produced by video editing software, Wondershare Filmora.
Designing and Implementations for hardware are limited to Perception Neuron Suit, Faceware, Mics and Camera. Whereas designing and implementations for software are limited to iClone 7, Character Creator, Crazy talk, adobe after effects, illustrator and Wondershare Filmora.
Following are the steps through which a character goes through in developing a scene:
- Editor creates head/face of characters on Crazy talk then import .RLHead files on Character Creator.
- An Editor designs the entire body of a character on Character Creator then import .cc files on iClone.
- An Actor wears the Perception Neuron suit connected with Axis Neuron then performs the calibration.
- Actor then performs a scene on designed character of Editor on iClone.
- Editor creates animated scenes and clips on iClone then imports the video file on Wondershare Filmora to combine the scenes with visual effect toolsets. Both have an understanding how the system, hardware and software works.
Benefits of the ProjectThe utilization of Perception Neuron Suit in our project will be beneficial for the audience with Computer and Media Science background, providing them an example that suit can be of great use in filmmaking, advertisements, game development to form graphics close to reality. Our goal is to create a lifelike animation which will help our intended audience, giving an idea of animation that can be useful for the game development team and as well as to the animated film or advertisement team.
Pakistan Lacks Behind in the industry of animation and design. There are very less animation projects which are completely developed in Pakistan. This Project is a self made initiative by both of us and it is completely produced in Pakistan. On a wider view we want to establish an environment that this part of the field also gets some attention and students are provided with the required resources and trainings to flourish in this field.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe Dead Shore is a Perception Neuron Based 3D and 2D Animated Movie. It is designed using various 3D computer graphics/animation software, Perception Neuron MOCAP suit, Faceware, Mics and Camera.
It is an approximately 12 to 15 minute movie which will be submitted in two langauges i.e Urdu and English. It will also include English Subtitiles. The end file would further be divided in two types Normal and 3D. The End File Format would be MP4.
