Project Summary

The production systems of dairy farmers around the world need to be able to combine sustainability with responsibility for the protection of human health, animal health, animal welfare and the environment. As the primary producers in the supply chain, dairy farmers should also be given the opportunity to add value to their goods by implementing production methods that meet the demands of processors and customs.Dairy farmers produce food for human consumption so that they have to be sure about the safety and quality of the milk they produce.

Pakistan is the agricultural country and its gdp(45%) is based on agricultural which indirectly
indicates the area of Diary forms and live stocks. Pakistan is the under developing country and
we need to develop some system which not only increase the milk productivity but also ensure
the health of diary form animals with sustainable expanditures that why we take this project for
the betterment of the Pakistan.We should produce a movement in dairy farming towards
automating processes to reduce (physical) energy and labor costs.Sustainable here means affordable systems and our first priority is to make the
battery less devices that is much benefited for the livestock.

Digital devices like wearables are ground in cattle monitoring, enabling real-time information on individual cows, e.g. to improve health, lactation, or reproduction. A newly developed feed additive improves milk quality through milk solids. A data solution could track these increases while measuring other real-time information for individual cows to improve health, lactation, and/or reproduction.

This peoject has various battery less sensor based automatic health monitoring systems for monitoring various diseases of cows. All collected factors from the automated system will be stored in a database. Then further actions will be taken accordingly.

Through ICT and the IoT, more performance-related data can be collected from the animals, for example through cameras and image recognition software, wearables, as well as weight or sound monitoring.

In that system we use sensor technology which maps the special aspects of animal behavior like temperature, heart rate etc.Inshort this project is driven in part by the economic reality of rising labor costs compared to capital costs.

Project Objectives

The main aspect of health monitoring system is to check continuously the health of individual of cattle, easily diagnosis and treatment of sick cattle as early as possible. In that system we use sensor technology which maps the special aspects of animal behavior like temperature, heart rate etc.

Project Implementation Method

The main aspect of health monitoring system is to check continuously the health of individual of cattle, easily diagnosis and treatment of sick cattle as early as possible. In that system we use sensor technology which maps the special aspects of animal behavior like temperature, heart rate etc.

This system uses a pedometer whic is installed on foot of each cow for analysing activity and movement patterns.This active sensing system identifies the health condition of each entity and detects special activities in advance to allow swift measures such as artificial insemination on time.This system is
practical for monitoring the emergency state of cattle
sheds because it employs a closed circuit television
(CCTV) system for collecting video information of
the livestock farm and its facilities.The system compares the collected information with control data according to livestock disease collected by challenge test.identify livestock diseases before it spreads in order to minimize associated damages

  • Consumers have become more aware of animal welfare. Brand owners increasingly focus on supply chain monitoring and quality assurance to guarantee animal welfare. 
  • To satisfy the demands of a customer by providing a product which meets the customer’s requirements at a price which enables the producer to make a profit.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The bio-sensor module consists of three parts: an
ECG component which detects the pulse frequency
of cattle, a Respiration component that uses a force
sensing resistor (FSR) to detect the breath rate, and an
Accelerometer component for measuring the momentum
of each individual.The ECG component detects the pulse frequency of the cattle in order to monitor heartbeat activity. We employed the Einthoven triangle method to measure a
potential difference in the ECG. This ensures that the
separation distances of the electrodes are suitable for
cattle trunks.We installed a FSR between a band and the
cattle trunk to measure respiration. Figure 3 depicts
the measurement process for the breath rate of cattle
based on the FSR.
