In today’s world, the energy crisis is the biggest challenge to survive. Food is a basic need in our lives. Keeping in mind, the situation of the current energy crisis seems to vanish in the future. In most parts of Pakistan, people living in rural areas do not have access to Gas, and people cook on wood or charcoal to fulfill their basic needs. However, cooking on fossil and fuels is not as healthy for human lives as well as for the environment. however, there is renewable energy which is free of cost and available 12 hours a day that is solar energy which can be helpful to overcome the energy crisis.

Considering all the above things, Pakistan is already facing many problems including load shedding, but the energy crisis (Gas) is hitting the boundaries. the possible solution for this problem of the energy crisis is an eco-friendly, “solar-powered induction cooking stove” which will operate on solar energy. However, the heat produced by the phenomenon is called electromagnetic induction. The eddy current is induced in the coil by varying magnetic fields. So, it will be electricity and Gas independent hence no monthly bills. The energy is being produced will be transferred to the pan is 80 to 90% making it energy efficient as well as time-efficient. Due to this, it will keep the environment safe and clean. Plus, it plays a major role in decreasing climate pollution. Everyone in the society can get the benefit of it from lower class to upper class. In the conclusion, a “solar-powered induction cooking stove” is one great solution as it is eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and cost-efficient.

General objectives

The general goal of this project is to simulate and construct a Solar Powered Induction Cooking System using auto selection method, taking photo voltaic panel power as a fundamental source. Solar powered induction cooking system should be designed as a whole that is also portable and it can be used in all places with the advantage of battery storage that is charged  by the panel. The purpose also covers the decreasing of electricity and gas payments as the conventional method uses more energy while half it is wasted as heat energy in the kitchen. The project aims at to provide a cost effective and environmental friendly cooking system for people living in both urban and  rural areas.

IMPLEMENTATION METHOD

Design of the System

The design consists of  two power sources, i.e. solar and mains power. The solar panel is having PV solar cells that convert light energy into electrical energy by means of direct current. The dc voltage of the PV modules is applied directly to the induction cooker. An in-built inverter is used to run the heater by inverting photovoltaic DC to high frequency AC. This system consists of photovoltaic (PV) panels, Induction Cooker, and a load.

The above figure shows the functional block diagram of the Solar induction cooker. The Solar panel gives voltage. This voltage depends on day time, The DC from the Solar panel is used to charge a battery. And a commonly available rechargeable battery is shown. The battery supplies power irrespective whether it is night or day. The system shows inverter circuit for dc to ac converter and supplies the current to coil on a magnetic core which as a result produce resistive heating on cooking pot magnetic material.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final product is a Solar based induction stove in which we are utilizing the "I2R loss"  which is compromises of eddy current loss and hysteresis loss. embeded with temperature sensor ,cooling fan, automatic utensils detection algorithm, timer , Bifilar coil and  a touch screen for user interface  to provide the most advance and saftiest cooking exprience. the ripples dc power generated from a solar is converted pure dc by solar charger and then stored in the battery and now the inverter is used for dc to  ac conversion  and now the bifilar coil single handedly work as LC oscillator by which the faradays and lenz law came into action and eddy current is induced in the cooking vessil  and due to eddy current loss and hysteresis loss the vessel atoms begins to collide with each other due to which vessels becomes hot in no time. we are decreasing the power cosumption by using the bifilar coil.
