This Project is solely based on the Robotics and Computer vision. This project is designed as a commercial product that will be a good innovation in the market. This project can also be use in domestic level. This will be a user friendly robot that will completely automated for cleaning the solar panels. The Major component of this robot are microcontroller, sensors, chassis, brush, and water tank. The robot is based on 2 chassis, one is on ground that contains water tank and Compressor for water pressure where the other chassis is place on the solar panel. Other chassis contains the sensors, microcontroller, nozzle and a not slippery wheelbase. The movement of robot is in vertical direction. As you power on the robot and place on the surface of the panel it detect the surface and starting move forward and also cleaning the panel. The sensors are connected at the edges of the robot to detect the image and process it to find the edges, this will prevent the robot from falling down but it will clean till the edges of the robot. Image detection is the significant part of the project because the robot is automated so if the robot doesn’t detect the image properly it will fall down. This will also help in moving the robot freely on the panel.

Project Objectives

This Solar Panel Cleaning Robot aims to maintain the efficiency of Green Energy production by making sure that solar panels are kept clean without putting humans at risk.

Project Implementation Method

This robot design will be based on 2 chassis, one of them will consist of its water tank and compressor that will be on the ground of floor. That chassis can be control through the RC Remote for its movement. Other chassis contains the battery, sensors, tires, motor and nozzle. Nozzle will generate water pressure to clean the panel. This chassis wheels are of non-slippery material. All hardware parts (microcontroller, sensor, battery, button, and electrical part are connected with bunches of wires) whereas the other parts like compressor, nozzle and water tank are connected with the water pipes.

 Implementation of the robot or the program for the robot will start through the powering ON the robot. Robot will place on the panel and then it detects the image/reflection through the sensors and transmit the information to the microcontroller. Microcontroller process that data from the sensor and turn the water on through the nozzle and start moving over the panel slowly. As it detects the edge of the panel it will stop there. This will be the summarize Design and implementation of the robot.

Benefits of the Project Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The expected outcome of the Project will be an efficient robot that would be able to clean the solar panels effectively by using computer vision and digital image processing. The robot will make sure that no portion of the panel is left dirty and dusty. It would be a smart, portable and easy to handle robot. This robot would be better from others because it will have the ability to clean the panels of different sizes without any modification to its code. This robot should have great commercial potential.
