The post-pandemic era saw many walks of life embracing the online medium as the mode of survival. While many industries incorporated the “New Normal” successfully, one industry has alluded, and somewhat neglected the need of shifting its operations online. Fashion and Lifestyle industry has always relied on the ‘’old ways’ of doing business. While in recent years, few sections of the industry have gone online in a bid to further expand their businesses, a large area of the industry still lingers in the conventional way of doing business. A closer look at the matter revealed that while there have been talks of bracing this innovation, a scarcity of hosts and other mediums has held them back to some extent. Currently in Pakistan, there is virtually no mobile or web-based application/portal that could provide an opportunity for such businesses to utilize the new paradigm to run business. Our mobile application is a sincere yet bold step in not only providing these businesses with an opportunity to embrace the online medium of business with open hands but to also pave way for such technological advancements to occur in our country, not only further strengthening different businesses financially but also providing a necessary boost to the ever-rising IT Industry of Pakistan. The financial gain kept aside, the implications it will enforce on everyday life’s tasks would be highly beneficial from humanity’s perspective, especially how it will help tackle the new challenges the post-pandemic era has brought upon us.
Our Fashion and lifestyle industry have alluded in embracing online medium of business even after the emergence of the post-pandemic era. Lately, there have been attempts made to ensure the smoot transition of business through the electronic medium, but these attempts have proven to be futile due to the lack of opportunities and hosts (apps and web portals) in the country.
Our Mobile application not only aims at filling the needs of the target sector but also paving for such technological advancements in the future. The application primarily focuses on helping a user finding a salon or a beauty parlour (depending on the need at hand) near the vicinity of their location. It could be for a routine haircut, or it could be for looking for best options to obtain a perfect bridal/groom treatment. If a user is looking for an alternate for their favourite spot to get such amenities, they could simply use the reference links given below. The app will also allow users to scroll through current best deals in order to truly satisfy their needs. Chat rooms will allow both parties to interact at the same time to further enhance user experience.
The first phase was to run a business analysis on the feasibility of the project. It involved One-on-one interviews with some of the notable names of the industry, alongside having small chats with lesser known vendors to get an idea of their sentiments and expectations for the project.
The next phase was to draw out the complete development plan of the project. The determined milestones are listed below this form.
The development phase (still under process) has seen the completion of the overall UI of the mobile application and the sign-in/sign up function.
Our mobile application attracts the eyes of those people who want to get their haircut, hair styled,
facial grooming is done, and avails of other services. It provides recognition as well as a platform
to those talented and capable salons or spas that cannot get deserved the attention of clients. It is
also a much-needed platform for the lifestyle and fashion industry to carry out a smooth transition
of their businesses onto the online medium in a bid to expand their business alongside providing a
boost to the Pakistani IT Industry.
