Natural disaster especially earthquakes are common in the Southeast Asian region.
A high magnitude Earthquake can cause serious destruction due to which buildings collapsed and people get trapped under debris. It is difficult to detect the bodies and survivors in such conditions. In this project, we are going to design a robot that will help us to find survivors or dead bodies that are trapped under collapsed buildings for rescue operations. Using the help of technology, we can provide the necessary help needed to save a life, sometimes a small effort can make a difference
The objective of this project is to be used in search and rescue operations to detect any survivors that are trapped under the debris.
We are using the embedded system to implement this project. Our project includes both hardware and software implementation. We are using multiple servo motors to achieve the serpentine movement of our robot, and also for lifting each block we are using servo motors with time delay.
This project can be used by search and rescue operation teams to help them find the survivors. Our robot will be completely compatible with the above task once it is done. Other applications also include nuclear radiation detection at nuclear power stations.
So for our above-mentioned objective, we are using an ESP-32 wifi camera module that will allow the live feed to the user once connected to Wifi. We are also using a Thermal camera to capture any heat signature to detect any kind of life-form. We are using 6 servo motors for Serpentine motion and 6 servo motors for lifting each block so that our robot can climb a certain height. We will be using a total of 2 Arduino to control all the servos. We also attached 2 separate blocks of DC motor to help the generation of serpentine movement.
