SMIU Student society Electronic voting systems are rapidly overlapping the traditional paper based voting. In traditional voting there are number of factors that make rigging in whole electoral process such as counting of votes, fake voters and involvement of outside sources and also other problems like time consumption, cost budget problems etc. So the purpose of this proposal is to investigate how to model an authentic reliable and upright E-voting system so that a voter is submitted a vote in secure manner while maintaining the time, verification, budget and also the security of the entire system. SMIU Student society E-voting system is the application of online election and technologies to the automation of voting processes. In online voting, students cast their ballot from their mobile, laptop that is connected to the central database where actual processing of the ballot is done.

Project Objectives

The aim is to develop an efficient and easy prototype of E-voting system that provide secure election process and build trust in student regarding this technology and improve voter confidence or experience. Prevention of rigging in polling booth during the calculation of results by reducing human interference. Reduced the whole budget of election process, such as the amount consumed in production and distribution of election accessories e.g. ballot papers, ballot boxes, voter cards etc. Another goal is to help the election management regarding calculation and verification such as fast counting of votes and verification of voters.

Project Implementation Method

The student can create an account, student must be login to access the system. After login the student can access the dashboard of the system, to cast their vote and check out the (election) results on time. If the user is admin then they can create, update or delete the student accounts, election societies and Candidate information. Admin user will have all rights to access any accounts, admin can check the results before announcement and Admin can create the results on dashboard. Student must be present in university on voting timing because they need a code of voting officers to cast their vote.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This system will be based on (RDBMS) technology, and this can be run on any network 
environment, in this system there are users login panel There are two type of users in this 
system Following
Admin: Admin will have manage all the administrative work like user’s 
authentication, Societies creation, Candidate creation and Manage all the user and 
candidate accounts.
Student: Students can access their societies, to check candidates and cast their vote and 
check out results on time.
