Smart Water Billing Management System
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe basic idea of the project is to develop “A Smart Water Billing Management System” at household level that would be reliable, efficient and economical for the consumer. The Arduino based Water Distribution Control System based would work through electronically controlled water valves, monitoring sensors and water pumps. Monitoring sensors monitor the water level in both, reservoir and the consumer’s water storage tank. The consumer will be granted support of an Android Application. The system will supply a limited quantity of water per day to each consumer’s storage tank. But, if some consumer needs more water, he would send the request for more quantity of water using the Android Application. Charges will apply according to the terms and conditions. Each consumer will stay updated about pH-level and the water level of his storage. The Android Application will also provide all the information regarding the total usage of water and the corresponding amount that will be due user can refill their tank without sending request. In this system just like water we are also providing electricity at household level by using CTPT sensor in this case electricity is provided at a balanced rate not as per Wapda rate.
Project Objectives- Save water from wastefulness
- Supply of clean water to the consumer.
- Limited supply of water to each registered consumer.
- Consumer will stay updated about the water level of his/her storage tank.
- An Android Application is granted to the consumer. He will send a request for extra supply. Charges will apply.
- The Android will provide bills and also amount that will be due.
- Supply depends upon the number of individuals will registered in the database
The IoT based Water Distribution Control System smartly works through electronically controlled water valves, monitoring sensors, and water pumps. Monitoring sensors include the IR-sensor that monitors water clarity in the main storage tank. Other monitoring sensors include ultrasonic sensors that measure water level in both, the main storage tank and the consumer’s water storage tank. We used components that are economical and readily available in the local market. We also made sure that those components may also fulfill our requirements. We ensured that our system is reliable, efficient and economical for the consumer. We used the Arduino as a Central Processing Unit (CPU). All Peripheral devices have been directly connected to Arduino Nano. We also used NodeMCU. It is genuinely an Arduino, but we only utilized its Wi-Fi Module since it has a lesser number of I/O pins. Moreover, it requires other firmware when connected to a Computer. We used AC Solenoid Valves to control the flow of water. We utilized relays to operate them. A relay is used to electrically switch any AC voltage by applying a low DC voltage signal.
Benefits of the Project- The Project main goals are Good-Health, supply of clean water, and reduced the inequality.
- This system will save water from wastefulness and provide an uninterrupted supply of clean water to each consumer.
- The system supply’s a limited quantity of water per-day to each consumer’s storage tank.
- An android application is granted to the consumer. If a consumer needs more water, he will send a request for additional water (Charges will apply accordingly).
- Android application will also provide all the information regarding the total usage of water and the corresponding amount that will be due.
- Each consumer will stay updated about the water level of his storage tank.
- The water supply is also dependent upon the number of individuals registered in the data base.
Improving access to resources, while preserving and replenishing those resources, is what all about this project. The system has been designed to provide a continuous supply of water on demand, compliant with regulations, according to customer expectations and minimal environmental impact. We develop a Smart Water Distribution Control System at the household level. Monitoring sensors monitor the water level in both, the reservoir and the consumer’s water storage tank. The system will supply a limited quantity of water per day to each consumer’s storage tank. The consumer will be granted access to our owned Android Application. If a consumer needs more water, he would send a request for more water. Charges will apply accordingly. In this way, we manage the supply and the demand cycle which ultimately reduces the consumption of water and implements the accountability of water usage for both Admin and the consumers.
