Project Summary

Smart voice assistant is a mobile application for Deaf and mute persons. The application speaks words and sentences as per item selection by the user. It dynamicaaly merges the existing audios and inputs selected by the user to prepare a single meaningful audio for a statement. The application dynamically prepares concatenated string by joining paths of existing audio files from library, audio of runtime text, selected item and numeric values as well. Like a mute person selecting items and typing the numeric value to purchase suger and oil as per appropriate units of the quantities.  It enhances the interaction of special persons with the common people which is better than the signs and symbols dependent techniques. The application also supports language switching option like English, Urdu, Chinese and native languages as well inlcuding punjabi, pothohari, sariki, hindko etc. It involves the library of common audios for common words and items to dynamically link in the final concatenated audio. Dynamic task insertion is the module which helps in inserting the new tasks in SQLITE database.

Project Objectives

• To reduce the communication gap between the mute persons and common people.
• Multi-lingual Support to enhance interaction scenarios in different regions.
• Dynamic task insertion and customization to involve self-created tasks, items and even quotations as well.

Project Implementation Method

• Develop a task insertion mechanism to save items, related text and audio. Also maintain path of multilingual audio for same words.
• Prepare an audio based based library of words for different items, quantities, their units, quotations and commonly spoken sentences in SQLITE.
• Develop a text to audio conversation support using Speech API to support runtime audio generation and then merging in the final audio.
• Develop an intelligent dynamic audio merger as per item, quantity and task selection. Audio for the units of these quamntities will be dynamically merged in final audio. 
• Develop intelligent language switiching system as per selection fom the menu. It dynamically loads the audios from approprite paths and merge in the final audio.
• Dymanic text and audio storage as per customized needs for buzz words or commonly spoken words and sentences as per region. Its icon can also be shown dynamically. 
• Also include dynamic audio level adjustments by increasing microphone volume in android app to enhance listening of words by the deaf child so that he/she can learn to speak words as well and protect against muteness.
• Test on multiple android phones and then deploying the application on Google play store.

• It will serve the mute people by helping them communicate with normal people to overcome the communication barrier from their life.
• As the application is multilingual it can be used by user from any part of world.
• By adding the enhanced feature of add task insertion user can add more categories an task according to their needs and region based requirements.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

• A mobile Application apk file for Andriod Operating System above 4.0 along with database in SQLITE. 
• A set of related screenshots and description to deploy on the Google playstore.
