This project is about to the entrance and parking of the sticker vehicles of any firm or organization. We want to introduce a smart system that can recognize the striker vehicles and help them to park their vehicles in the slot available for parking. So instead of doing these things manually that we are doing in every organization we can program an embedded system that can do all these functions for us according to the instruction feeds in it. This system will also have the vehicle’s owner information. The system can automatically generate a warning message to the vehicle’s owner when his/her car is parked for more than twelve hours. This system only allows the authorized person to enter and park their vehicles according to the instruction provided. So we can introduce this kind of system to any organization and firm where the parking and security is the main concern. 

Project Objectives

The main objective of this project is to control parking of vehicles through sensors and
controllers. The system is consisted of multiple nodes connected with central unit. Every node
contains multiple sensors, controller and camera. Every sensor is dealing with individual
parking slot. Sensors are connected with controller and data of vehicles is already stored in the
system. When camera notices any vehicles, through image processing techniques, the system
extracts vehicle identification number, and matches the ID number with data stored in the
system. System also checks, is there any available slot for vehicle? After analyzing data, system
allows vehicle to cross the barrier. The system also generates message to owner and security cell,
if vehicle is still parked after official time. This system is suitable, where parking and security
are main concerns.

Project Implementation Method

There are mainly three parts of our project 

1. To obtain the correct information of parking slot  

2. Allows only athenticate cars to cross the barrier by number plate reconginzaton.

3. Generate a message to security cell if vehicles are parked for more than offical time.

For parking slot imformation we used ultrasonic sensor and we used matlab software for numer plate detection of vehicle and a GSM module to send sms or to generate notification,

So both hardware and software work is involved in our project

Benefits of the Project

We can implement this project to any organization, firm, industry or institution where parking and security is the main concern. This project is cost effective. This project is applicalble only for reserved parking areas. For example if we talk about the parking of an institution and if there reserved parking area for the faculty members so this system will only allows that cars to enter through the barrier. This system also generate a message to security cell if the vehicle is parked for more than  the offficial time. So for efficiently use of parking area we can implement this system

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We have used ultrasonic sensors for the correct information of parking slots. For the number plate tracking system we used MATLAB software and to generate a message to security cell we used GSM module because of its effienciency. For display of parking information we used LCD  at entrance and for image aquistion we used camera at entrance and to control the barrier we used servo motors.
