Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryOur Proposed system, Smart Traffic Flow, will control the signal timings based on the traffic on each side. Also it will provide prioritized passage to the prioritized vehicles i.e.: Ambulance, Protocol, etc., as an interrupt through the normal cycle of the signal. Our system will synch connected signals with each other to reduce traffic jams. The synchronization will not only be for the density but also for prioritized interrupt. All of the flow of traffic can be monitored by the warden visualized on a map in the system’s web application. Not only the web will provide view of traffic and signals condition, but it will also allow the warden to control these lights through this web application.
Project Objectives- Smart Traffic Flow will control the signal timings based on the traffic density on each side of the signal.
- A side without traffic won’t receive the chance to get green until it receives some traffic.
- It will also give prioritized passage to prioritized vehicle within the regular signal control.
- STF will synch signal in both regular traffic density and prioritized vehicle’s interrupt.
- It will make Traffic Warden’s job easy by providing view and control of the traffic through a web application.
We have implemented the system on a model by using multiple arduinos and a voice recognition module along with some other modules and sensors. Also we have created a web server to monitor and control the flow of traffic on the screen instead of model.

We are using Arduino along with sensors to detect traffic density. Also we have imported a voice recognition module to sense the voice of prioritized vehicle.The sensor used are ultrasonic sensors, while some other modules such as bluetooth and WiFi modules are also used.
