But the administration and control of traffic movements inside the current infrastructure are additionally getting more difficult than any time in recent memory as a result of increased number of vehicles. These days traffic control is a major worry in the nation, for the most part in huge urban areas because of substantial traffic. This is because of unpredictability of traffic load at certain point of our everyday journey. The extent of this project is to display a proposition in the execution of a traffic light control system dependent on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Traffic signals are the most helpful method for controlling traffic in a bustling intersection. In any case, we can see that these signals fail to control the traffic adequately when a specific lane has got more traffic than different lanes. In this method, traffic density will be estimated by including counting the number  of vehicles in every path and which path initially recognizes the presents of a vehicle. The system choice is relying upon the output given by the sensors. The PLC checks the priorities and afterward give smart signal to the traffic lights for Red, Orange or Green. In PLC the status of the sensors is checked and certain logical operations are performed to choose which track is to be opened first. A ladder logic diagram will be produced for the execution of above targets in PLC

Project Objectives

Objective 1: Understanding the Industrial Automation concept of Programmable Logic controller including digital signaling system and also design the Human Machine interface device for end user to control and monitor all parameters from control desk.
 
 
.Objective 2: After understanding we will design the appropriate design which will be way easier to use and manage. We have divided our project into three parts:
 
 
? Designing of Automatic 4-way Control Traffic System.
? Designing of Length counter meter circuit.
? Designing of timer-based Speed controlling circuit.
 
 
These all parameters will be controlled by Programmable Logic Control with the human interactive sensor instead of using traditional instruments (individually for every parameter, there is a separate equipment against of all parameters). Then we will integrate the circuit one by one.
 
 
Objective 3: Initially, we are going to design a prototype of our project, but later on, we can implement it on the national level as well with the concern of the authorities.

As we are going to design a PLC based traffic control system This project has two main parts. First is study of PLC and the second part is its application intelligent traffic control system. The intelligent traffic control system has further divided into two main parts, Programming and hardware. Ladder logic Programming technique issued. PLC DVP 28SS211T is used for attaching with proto type hardware. In hardware photoelectric sensors is used for sensing the presence the vehicles on the square in prototype. Brief working principles of all instruments that we are going to use in our project are defined below:

Benefits of the Project

The finding of this research will provide the benefit to the society because this method will help to reduce the traffic density on the roads and also help in reducing the accidents and it would help in making a country smatter. Therefore, the main problem of every country related to the traffic congestion can be solved by using this smart traffic control system and with the help of this system we can make our roads safer for travelling. This interface is synchronized with the whole process of
2. the traffic system. The prototype of the traffic system can easily be installed in real life situations. The design of the traffic light system and be enhanced by Increasing the number of sensors in order to detect the presence of vehicle and for further improvement the infrared sensors and imaging system or camera system can be installed which makes the system more sensitive and the detection capabilities of the system will increase.
