Smart Terrain Quadruped Robot
Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryThe Quadruped is a mechanical device which has been designed to create a robot that can easily walk on various different surfaces with the capabilities of detecting and countering any irregularities or obstacles. The Objective of this project is to design and assemble a robot which can walk on smooth surfaces, as well as on rough terrain and it should also overcome hurdles such as bumps or steps. To overcome hurdles, Ultrasonic detector has been incorporated into this robot. The other objective of this robot is to climb stairs while carrying load.
Project Objectives- A smart terrain quadruple is designed and assembled.
- The developed model could be employed on work locations where hurdles need to be tackled.
Initially required hardware was procured and assembled. The second phase required the procurement of the sensors. Then the appropriate sensors were calibrated and employed. In the next stage, the software program was written and tested to see how the system responds to different kinds of stimulus which in turn also reveals the system’s range of operation. Finally, more features were added to the system to make it marketable as a product form.
Benefits of the Projectthis robot can be used for military tasks, rescue operations and surveillance. it can also assist differently abled persons. If animatronics hand can be mounted on top of this robot, it can be helpful for diffusing bomb.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableWooden structure was made at first just to get the dimensions clear and later alumnium structure was made but due to stability issue, we had to shift it to acrylic structure.
