Project Summary

Educational institutions are burdened by cumbersome paperwork and manual processes, and they find it difficult to maintain records. Teachers are struggling to monitor student’s activities discipline, assignments, etc. School administrators are lacking in result-based monitoring tools to track student progress. Institutions are unable to manage information and there are endless delays in taking decisions based on complete analysis. Dashboard reports and intelligent analytics are useful indicators for educators to examine attendance, assignments, grades, etc. and predict student outcomes. Using data analytics will help institutions to identify students at-risk and deploy resources to improve achievement and success.

Project Objectives

The Goal of this Project is basically to establish frequent communication between teachers and parents of their respective classes. This Application will allow teachers to give frequent feedback about each children or specific using web to notify parents about their children performance Also through app parents will notify about the events, assessments & other activities. This application will help parents to analyze their children progress and performance plus they can see the predicted result of their children according to the current progress and performance e.g. (Midterm marks, Assessment, Project & Attendance) by using this app communication will be much easier for parents and teacher also they can identify their children lowest marks subjects to help them to improve it and it also analyze weak subjects according to the previous classes records and analyze the prediction of their results. Provide the platform to Parents to monitor their children’s performance effectively and get regular predication about student result from system based on the performance of student and feedback provided by teacher.

Our project will mainly focus on the following objectives:

1. Teacher can provide feedback on student performance on weekly basis on the scale of 5.
2. Our system will predict success ration of student in particular subject on the basis of past performance and current feedback scale.
3. Parents can view result and get tips from teacher as well as from system to improve the performance of student.
4. There will be a Blog section in app which will have material related to improvement of student growth and performance. The article will be post on weekly basis.

The main challenge of the system is to predict the student future result on the basis of their past results and current performance.

Project Implementation Method

For Web API we use .NET and MSSQL as our Relational Database. In order to make mobile app, we have used React Native and for Web Application we have used React JS and couple of libraries are used in order to get the work done like we wanted to and in future, there will be possible changes if we find them necessary. The libraries we have used:

• React Router
• React Rating
• Reactstrap

If in future we get a chance of enhancing it so we might need a good budget because that can help us build more features in this product which will be very good for the users out there and which will make the operations more efficient. The product can grow in a very good direction. How about if we put feature in this project that teacher and parent can communicate by using our application. There are couple of good ideas come in our mind but in order to make them happen, we need better budget and more time. For now, the completion of this project comes up with the features or objectives we have defined but yes, in future it can grow with more features as well.

Benefits of the Project

Education is not something that only happens at school. Parents have as much responsibility for their children’s education as teachers do. It should be a collaborative effort.

A recent study on the importance of parents’ involvement in their children’s education shared some light on the impact parents can have regarding the level of involvement in their children’s education. The study, which formed the basis of SG Maleeka’s thesis titled Parental involvement in their children’s education in the Vhembe District, examined the level of input parents showed and the effects thereof.

There are several roles that parents should play in their children’s education:

• Parental involvement enhances academic performance. 
• Parental involvement leads to better classroom behavior.
• Parental involvement lifts teachers’ morale.
• Parental involvement benefits children and parents.
• Time constraints are the greatest barrier to parental involvement.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The project gets the current data of students and analyze the data by implementing the machine learning algorithm and predict the future result of children. Beside this system has the functionality of modern day school management system including notification, assessments handling, feedback etc.
