Smart parking system is an IoT based project along with an android application that monitors the whole area at the run time that gives the driver an image of the entire parking area, and the user can see the available parking slots provided with the lane and the parking slot number.
Our proposed solution is that in our daily life the drivers face a lot of hurdles in parking vehicles. Parking is the Common problem that is mostly found in urban areas and the organizations service numbers of people such as government places, offices, Hotels, universities, department store, and hospitals, is the insufficient car parking.
Finding parking space is a problem for the driver. Sometimes it kills a lot of time of driver to find a parking space. IoT based project smart parking system brings a solution. A major purpose of this project is to avoid unnecessary traveling by a driver for the parking area. Monitoring the whole area at the run time gives the driver an image of the entire parking area, and the user can see the available parking slots provided with the lane and the parking slot number.

The occupancy of parking slot would be detected by the ultrasonic sensors and informed by using two LEDs. Where the RED LED is lit when an human/vehicle is detected and GREEN LED is lit when no human/vehicle is detected.
The user/driver would have to install a mobile application before using the system. User needs to signup then he/she would be able to use the system for finding the empty slot in the parking area.

Arduino mega 2560 as a microcontroller
ESP 8266 wi-fi module to upload the information of the available parking slots to the cloud
Ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04
3 LEDs/illuminance lights (For parking Red and Green)
