Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryAs technology is rising conveyors have become prominant in the industries ,warehouses for distributing products.Different types of conveyor have been innovated and inducting in sorting and distributing application. Our project "Smart Package Distributor" which is another innovation in the world of conveyors. Therefore "Smart Package Distributor"can be used for sorting and distributing products at different conveyors and location using RFID technology.Basically RFID technology is used for reading each product's ID and sending the information of a particular product to the controller. However the controller,controls the system for distribution and sorting each product in an efficient way as the need of industry.

- As RFID has fast reading time so it can read each package ID which is on the conveyor.

Radio frequency Identification (RFID): Multifunction electromagnet device which is a medium source of sorting product by identifying each product’s ID and maintaining the database of each product.

Read time for RFID tags is typically less than 100 milliseconds.

RFID tags are more rugged and better protected.
- No ambiguity while sorting the products at different location.
- Can be turned at any particular angle.
We are using pulleys, pulleys having larger diameter which is coupled with motor through coupler are drived through o ring belts with less diameter and upper pulleys which are used for moving and diverting the packages.
Material Specification:
- Used Nylon for making pulleys .As nylon is high chemical resistance, has good thermal and electrical insulation,cannot be overheated. It has low coefficient of friction. Therefore it is very dense.
Electric Conductivity (?): 10?12 S/m
Thermal Conductivity:0.25 W/(m·K)
- Oring belts: They are typically made of polymer material.Used for power or motion transmission Maintains contact with belt pulleys using friction and must be stretched or elongated to operate. In order to rotate the upper pulleys at desired angle these belts are adequate as they are stretchable and have much elasticity indeed.
- Used stainless steel pipes with greater wall thickness as it cost cheaper. However it is lucrative in means of hardeness.
- For structure we used mild steel.
Machine Elements:
- Used flange and ball bearing for reducing friction and accomadating different types of load.
- Used chain sprocket drives for diversion of upper pulleys at particular angle. Other than this maintained turn ration for holding torque and fast movement of pulley at an angle.
Machining:
- Hydraulic press for bending of sheets.
- Laser cutting for making holes in sheets.
- Vertical surface grinding machine for surfacing of material.
- Milling
- Lathe
- Wire cut EDM
Motors:
DC gear motor with less torque for driving large diameter pulley
DC gear motor with high torque for rotating the upper pulleys through chain sprocket drive.
Electronics:
- RFID for reading ID of a particular package, and according to the ID the control will divert the upper pulleys through controlling motors.
- Optousensors for detecting the current degree of motor when diverting the upper pulleys.
Controller: Used arduino for contolling the aforementioned content.
