Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe project will consist of different sensors which will be connected to a microcontroller and the data from these sensors will be sent to dashboard hosted over cloud. Mine workers will be monitoring and recorded in order to improve the working condition. With the help of this system, the environmental parameters like gases, humidity, temperature will be monitored in terms of their safety. The design is based on IoT technology using a cloud server, a control unit, sensors to gauge different boundaries and ready framework, which will be utilized to guarantee the security of laborers. Before the alarm is sent, a vibration pre-alert beginnings. During this time, the caution can be dropped by moving the arm. The goal of this project is to provide a smart and effective safety solution for the Pakistan mining industry.
Project ObjectivesTo ensure the health and safety parameters of coal mine workers by using the smart monitoring system in which it senses and monitors the temperature, humidity, heart rate and poisonous gases in coal mines and alerts the mine workers in a case of emergency and also sends the data to the control center as well.
Project Implementation MethodThe project aims to develop a smart mine protection system that will allow miners to work in safe environment by using different sensors including MQ-2, MQ-7, ds18b20, and heartbeat sensor which will monitor the underground environment. The design and structure is based on PCB and has to be hand compatible and easy to deploy. The application designs a warning system for coalmine safety based on IOT with early-warning intelligence on environmental conditions of the mine such as temperature, humidity and poisonous gases and also the health condition of miners in mining area and used to monitor potential safety problems using IOT technology based on Arduino and Arduino IDE. In addition to that it gives alarm sound using buzzer when any harmful gas is detected. In the LCD the data is displayed. The data which is collected is send to the application to save it and for remote users to observe.
Benefits of the ProjectIt ensure the health and safety parameters of coal mine workers and alerts the mine workers in a case of emergency such as emission of poisonous gases and monitors the temperature, humidity, heart rate and also sends the data to the IoT platform.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final product or the main objective of this project is to develop and implement a developing a wireless sensor networks, realized real-time surveillance system for mining industry. The smart mine protection system consisting of different sensors from which MQ-2, MQ-7, ds18b20 will be on the PCB in a form of hand wearable gadget with proper circuitry and only heartbeat sensor will be on jacket near heart's area of chest connected with the gadget. All of these will controlled by Micro-controller Arduino which will be connected with the IOT based system with Wi-Fi to analyze and send the data to the cloud based application. It will monitor the underground environment and will ensure the safety of the miners, if any problem occurs it will indicate the problem to workers and control room.
