Smart Logistics
Logistics companies in Pakistan faced a major change in their customer number after COVID. The sudden rise in the e-commerce lead to huge traffic to logistics.
However lack of digitization in the local Logistics businesses & Supply chains in Pakistan led a rapid boost and tilted the table past the feasibility regions of profit, increasing costs beyond what was required. The cost reduction couldn’t be handled anymore and it backfired increasing cost of transportation and mis-management. This is called the principle of Diseconomies of Scale
Our project Smart Logistics provides a smart solution that caters two of the major problems faced by the inbound logistics sectors in Pakistan
Our goal is to target Last Mile logistics and management for efficient systems that would be able to handle the huge traffic in inbound logistics faced in Pakistan without the need of reverse logistics
What we are providing is a distributed infrastructure solution for managing Inventory Tracking, Warehouse monitoring and Last mile delivery planning. Our solution aims to automate the aforementioned aspects of Logistics & Transportation. What we would be delivering to our customers is minimizing transportation and relocation costs for inventory and goods by providing optimal locations for goods placement in a region. The solution would also manage and decide last-mile deliveries and daily releases from transportation hubs and warehouses. This would also reduce reverse logistics
A quick understanding on the entire model could be seen in the diagram below.
Smart Logistics would include these main features
- Scan QR codes over packages
- Prepare delivery schedules with respect to optimal relocation of packages to nearest warehouses of customers
- Databases (MongoDB) is used for data warehousing
- AWS (EC2) is used for run time APIs
- GPS racking is done via SBC
- Customer transperency is maintained. Delivery times and dates are decided by the customer

Smart Logistics benefits the entire inbound logistics pipeline in the following ways
- Packages do not need to be hold and occupy space over port
- Automatic delivery schedules are made once packages are scanned.
- Reloaction of package is done towards warehouses nearest to customer location. This reduces fuel cost and time.
- Real tiime tracking allows managers, supervisors to keep a tag on the deliveries.
- Package does not need to be stored in warehouses for too long as it is delivered according to customer availability to receive package.
- Last Mile logistics is optimized as customer visibility is maintained.
- Reverse logistics is reduced as package is dispatched only when customer is available
Our solution provides a combination of hardware and software deliverables
We provide with dashboards and mobile applications aong with GPS trackers
| No | Deliverable | Description |
| 1 | Admin Dashboard | This would let admins to control the entire system including delivery schedules, employees, transportation units, ports, warehouses. Admins can also keep a track of deliveries via real time GPS |
| 2 | Port Person Dashboard | This would let the Port Person to scan packages, keep a track, load and dispatch trucks. |
| 3 | Warehouse Manager Dashboard | This dashbard would let the Warehouse manager to scan the incoming packages at warehouse and disptach them for last mile. |
| 4 | Rider Application | Riders would receive their delivery schedules on this app. They could speak to the customer, track the customer and send their real time location to customers |
| 5 | Customer Application | Customers could track their packages, rider location, can connect with the riders and confirm their receivings |
| 6 | GPS tracker | This trackers would be made via SBC. This would allow trucks to send their real time location to admins |
