Smart Knocker
Since doors are the gateway to our homes, therefore it is necessary to make them more secure. Doorbells have been playing an important role in protecting the security of modern homes since they were invented. We are proposing the Smart Knocker which allow home owners to receive alerts when a visitor is at the door, see who the guest is, and communicate with the visitor from a smart device using the app. They greatly improve people's life quality and contribute to the evolution of smart homes and their security. However, the commercial smart knockers are quite expensive. To solve this problem, we introduce the Smart Knocker. It connects a WIFI-enabled device to a network and enables the home owner to answer the bell triggered by the dash button, using a smartphone. Currently a variety of industries use such technology to help people in their everyday life.
Over the last few years, the quality, usability and accessibility of smart door bells has improved considerably. But prices became higher and higher. Our proposed system is solving the issue but maintains quality. This project can be really beneficial because it’s not always the case that a person can reach the doorbell. With this project we are going to help people in making their house entrance safe and secure in an inexpensive way. We aim to help in answering the visitor at the door by staying in their comfort zones. The project focuses on the security of the user’s home who are not at their homes when visitor comes. The visitor may be an intruder who come up with a purpose of harming. The project will have both hardware and software embedded. It will use the Arduino UNO as main component and its IDE for configuring it. Along with that, other hardware pats would be used to make the system even more reliable and secure. API would be configured for the interaction of user with the system. And a camera would also be deployed to capture the image of the visitor which would be stored n the storage device such as a memory card. The system will be more significant due to its lower costs and accessibility to local community.

Arduino UNO that acts as a processing unit. ESP32, Camera module is used for capturing the pictures of visitors. Power bank of 10k mah is used for portable power supply. Speakers are used for communication. Micro SD card is used here for memory storage/database, pictures are stored in database. Java is used for android App. Virtuino Library is used for ESP32. Glide, Library is used for image loading. MATLAB is used for charts and graphs.
This Project is based on Arduino based smart door bell, in this project each module has been executed with an organized work process utilizing advanced coding. First the doorbell is associated with the arduino board utilizing links; the doorbell acts a press button. After the doorbell is associated, the availability of the othe devices is checked. When the person press the, SMS is generated through Andriod App “Someone is at the Door”. The SMS is sent once the situations are submitted. If the user allows, the camera ESP32 capture the image of the person and send it towards user through Android app. Here we also have a voice calling option for two way communication. Java is used as high level, class based programming language and android studio use for android app.
