Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryThe summary of the project can be sum up in one word that is "change". we want to change the conventional wall switchboard which is located in a different part of the house, sometimes also cause sparks which results in fires to a centralized control system using Android Application and Arduino Uno with a Wifi module. The Android Application will send commands over a Wifi to Arduino Uno. Arduino Uno interprets these commands and makes a decision to turn on/off the appliances connected to it.
Project ObjectivesSmart Home using Arduino Uno and Android App is an Arduino Uno based home appliance controller that will control Home Appliances such as fan, light and air conditioner. Today is the day of technology, everything is evolving day by day and improving. Conventional wall switches located in different parts of the house make it difficult for the user to go near them to operate. Modern houses are gradually shifting from conventional switches to a centralized control system. A smart home provides the most modern solution with smartphones.
Project Implementation MethodSmart Home will be using a Wi-fi/Bluetooth interfaced to the Arduino board at the receiver end while on the transmitter end, an Android application sends ON/OFF commands to the receiver where loads are connected. By touching the specified location on the app, the loads can be turned ON/OFF remotely through this technology. The loads are operated by the Arduino board through optoisolator and thyristors using traits.
Benefits of the ProjectThe handicapped and elderly person will be the main benefactors. Our system will provide a complete shock proof life as we will remove conventional switches from out of the equation. This system also helps us to introduce a new way of switching in Pakistan.
