Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThis project implements the IoT technology to make a smart home where user can remotely control their home appliances and devices from anywhere in the world through the internet using mobile or other network devices.
In the past homes, appliances are controlled manually and the companies that providing smart home features like google home, Alexa home, etc. are very costly so a normal person can’t afford to have smart technology.
Smart home automation is an integrated system that helps the person especially to control the appliances (fan and lights) when outside from the home it also helps a disabled person through a smart android app which has a voice controlling option and manually too from anywhere. Smart Home by voice thus provides the facility of controlling the home appliances very easily by voice commands.
User can monitor their home at any time and check its appliances which are on or off. So in this way the user can save on the electricity cost.
Project ObjectivesThis system is proposed to control home appliances (including fans, Lights, Motors, AC, Refrigerator, etc.) through an Android application of smartphones by using one’s own voice. The summary of our objectives given below:

To control home from anywhere in the world via the internet using mobile or web.

To monitor the home appliances either which light/fan on or off.

To Control the home appliances either they should be on or off.

Provide a control by voice feature for a disabled or handicapped family person to control home appliances.

Able to store or manage the records of appliances.

Provide a user-friendly application interface for family members to control their homes easily.

Provide alert message to admin if light or appliances continuously on for many hours
The System consists of mainly three parts.
The First part is the android application & configuration of the cloud. Control appliances through user-friendly interface android application manually or by using voice.
The second part consists of a Rust program that will run on Raspberry PI and directly connected with home appliances. This part depends on hardware learning and the connection of all appliances with raspberry pi. It will be performing an action on appliances either it should be ON and OFF the bulb, fan, etc.
The third part consists of the connectivity of the cloud. In this part, the connection of raspberry and android applications with the cloud. And configuration of all cloud tasks.
All the above-mentioned work will be done by using different sensors and microcontrollers.
Benefits of the ProjectSmart home helps the person especially to control the appliances when outside from the home it also helps disabled Person through a Smart android app which has voice controlling option and manually too from anywhere.it also Able to store or manage the records of appliances.
The smart home application provides a user-friendly interface easy to learn and use the features of the application. It helps the user to remind if appliances are on or off by providing a smart alert message.
