Many gadget are made by using these advancements which improve the life standards of common people, but the sight impaired people are still lacking behind in every aspect of life. So, we’re making our outmost effort to build such a gadget which improves the life of these special peoples so they can talk with whom ever they want and walk without any hurdle and tension.
For that purpose, we use the image processing technique to detect face with an advance algorithm that is available today and for obstacle detection we use ultrasonic sensor which detects any object which is in user path.
Project ObjectivesOur Aims are to provide this secure path to sight impaired people so that they play part in their community and interact with people and feel free of restrictions.
- Firstly, we are focusing on face detection, so the user speaks with desired person. Instead of telling his thought to other people’s and said them to convey his message to the right person.
- Secondly, we are focusing make the walk of sight impaired people free of hurdles so it will provide secure environment to the user so that he will go wherever he want to go.
To begin this project, we will take start from understandings of complex machine learning algorithms of face detection and face verification. Then feasibility of Raspberry-pi will be explored in depth. The schematic design of the proposed Face verification system is depicted. The supervisor and I are competent enough to successfully complete all of the tasks. Recently, the project has successfully developed certain object detection and recognition applications and. Moreover, the supervisor has vast experience in image analysis features extraction, recognition, and image understanding. The experience of the supervisor will be very helpful to design and develop an automated face verification system. We believe in the happy and safe living life of all humans. Therefore, to develop such a human friendly system is one of the major motivations to proceed to the proposed work. Face detection, features extraction, and face verification operations when integrated with the Raspberry-pi will lead to a high level of accuracy of the system due to the enormous computation and memory resources. Because, these operations involve complex and intensive computer vision, machine learning, and image processing algorithms that are executed in high dimensional space. These complex computations are one of the bottlenecks in development of more accurate object detection and recognition solutions. Secondly, we use ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection. We are controlling the obstacle detection using Raspberry pi.

Our project (smart glasses) is a user friendly application enabling a blind person to not only detect an obstacle but also allowing face recognition. Facial recognition is one of the most promising applications of smart glasses and can help more organizations become more efficient. It is the process of capturing an image, analyzing it, and identifying someone based on that still, video, or live image of their face. A step beyond simple facial recognition would be facial recognition combined with smart glasses technology. Law enforcement can benefit from this combination because it can help them determine if someone is a person of interest even if they are hidden in a crowd.
In addition to this obstacle detection helps blind people in moving and allowing them to perform their work easily and comfortably. The presence of any hurdle will be communicated to the user through headphones. Instead of using a stick or something like that we would be using glasses as they are more convenient for usage. Our project will immensely help a blind person, who is actually unaware of the world outside in doing normal routine activities.
