Smart Energy Monitoring System
In existing energy metering system, consumer can get idea about their energy consumption only when competent authority issued electricity bill, hence this is a huge barrier for the consumer how to monitor its consumption, In this era of modernization everything tracks smartness in its modeling. Hence if the consumer can access every instant of their energy consumption through just its smart phone, it will be a great leap in the era of energy management. Today is a world of smart phones, we can access every corner of the world by a smart phone. An average person connect through internet 8-10 hours/day . in this period of time if it can access its energy consumption on regular basis then this could be a great charm for them.
This designs the implement the energy meter using the concept of IoT (Internet of Things). Hence it is actually internetworking of our physical devices. In this project this IoT is use to connect and exchange data between the physical devices. so there is a way for a consumer to track their energy consumption.
In this project , the consumer needs a web based platform by which they can track energy consumption. The platform that we are using is “ThingSpeak”. A ThingSpeak is a programmed web server that is used to gather or display the real time data for monitoring. In our project a consumer has its own ID when it is being login, the consumer can get acknowledged with current, voltage, power (active/reactive/apparent) globally.
We are desiging and development of single phase energy meter as well as three phase energy meter by designing potential transformer & current transformer. These PT’s/CT’s are able to measure voltages and current .zero crossing detector is used to measure the phase difference between three energy meters. By the combinations of these PT’s/CT’s and zero crossing detectors we have designed energy meters yet. The next step is to improve the power factor from the grid side to provide the improved power factor at the consumer end. The consumer is able to monitor consumed load globally using IoT.
With the advent of science and technology in every walk of life the importance of vehicle safety has increased and the main priority is being given to reduce the alarming time when an accident occur, so that the wounded lives can be attended in lesser time by the rescue team. This project provides the design which has the advantages of low cost, portability, small size and easy expansibility. This system will have broad application prospects as it integrates the positioning systems and the network of medical based services. The accident location automatic detection will help us to provide security to the vehicles and to the lives of the people. The high priority is given to the lives of the people. Hence, this project provides a feasible solution to traffic hazards and it gives security to vehicle and reduces loss of valuable lives and property.
Final Deliverable of this project would be in some prototype form along with Simulations and programming codes.
We will try to implement it practically in future work.
