Project Summary

Over the years, new technologies have been introduced to
improve first responders’ efficiency and effectiveness, further
expanding the role that technology plays in aiding disaster
relief. Knowledge and the dissemination of information are
crucial in what seems like a constant string of natural disasters.
Rapid technological developments in several fields ensure that both emergency response teams and survivors are better equipped to address the immediate challenges a natural disaster poses.
Pakistan is one of the world's most natural hazardprone nations . Due to population growth, shifts in land-use
patterns, migration, unplanned urbanization, environmental
degradation, and global climate change, the country's social
and economic costs of natural disasters are increasing.
Reducing the risk of disasters will be key to achieving the
development goals in the Pakistan. There is a need for a
device that monitors and sends early warning systems that are usually unable to autonomously detect and interpret disaster signals in either non-real time or real-time. 
 

Project Objectives

Project Implementation Method

The main theme and the research behind this project is to design such an effective system for the protection of the industry labor.

The proposed system helps us to control the various hazards of the any industry like fire, gas leakage, short circuit and the earthquake. The Arduino will sense the condition by the means of the sensors and according to the condition the Arduino will sends signal to the alarm to announce the normal and also the abnormal condition. The one of the main feature of this hardware is that in case of any abnormal condition the system will automatically make the alarm in the early stages and helps to reduce the loss due to the any type of incident.

The study of accidents revealed that the information of the disaster was known only when the case was spread and after it had made an impact on human lives and infrastructure and these accidents could have been avoided if there have been a prior or before impact information available before the disaster which was pretty easy to do.
It is noted that most of the fire accidents happening, the fire was detected only when it has been spread over the place and was visible outside the building.So, this project aims at providing a prior information about the risk of a disaster to the right safety department like the fire department, the police department and the gas department.

Benefits of the Project

The Arduino based disaster management alarm system was proposed. The authors tested functionality of the designed system by creating an improvised disaster like scenarios. Experimental studies have been carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Results have shown that the disaster management alarm system using Arduino was successful. After several trials, we were able to obtain the values as shown in the data, which was transmitted through the Software. The user was notified during a test.
It is envisaged that the developed system can be used to a
wider class of real-world problems. Moreover, the integration
of internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and smart
technology is further recommended for improvement.
 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We design a hardware according to the requirements of the any buildings.The system will detects the different types of disaster including earthquake, gas leakage and the storm issue with the help of the Arduino uno R3.The methodology of the purposed hardware is shown in the diagram in the below section.
