Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThe project involves the interfacing of ultrasonic sensors with microcontroller. The project aims to provide drivers with ease during parking in heavy ruch parking areas. Because in such situations there can be frequent blockage of driveways, this can lead to wastage of time and fuel. We have implemented error detection via binary bit checking in serial communication to have a system with minimized running problems. Moreover to implement clean energy we have used solar power as primary source for system. The system involves use of IoT based smart android application that can ultimately keep up with the standards of modern world systems. All these features are embedded together in a smart system to have an industrial standard product as a result.

Project Implementation MethodThe project implementation is based on interfacing of ultrasonic sensor with PIC 16F688 micrcontroller. The modules are connected with each other via serial ports and are thu serially communicating with each other. The first microcontroller sends its data to the next and this process continues uptil last modules, at the last module we have node MCU which recieves all the data from all modules and sends it to Firebase Database. Along with sending it on firebase it also sends information on the SSD for drivers to know if there are any vacant slots available.
Benefits of the ProjectConsider some large parking areas where drivers may need to traverse through lots of lanes before they actually find a parking spot that is vacant for parking. This is again a simple scenario if this was extended to a large number of lanes let say twenty or more than that, this search process will last after a long time, leading to wastage of time and fuel and also it may cause mental stress/frustration. The globally fastening world needs faster revolutions and regulations to enhance the ease of human life, this is the base to what we have opted for our final year project i.e. Smart Car Parking System.
