There is lack of awareness and facilities for its diagnosis. Our project is to create a hardware device (Smart Buddy) that can detect breast cancer among women by simply wearing it. It'll be much cheaper and easy to access than mammograms. Mammograms are painful and are unable to detect cancer among younger women. The smart shirt we are creating will be able to detect the breast cancer among any age group women using thermal, ultrasonic and IR imaging sensors. Additionally, it digitalizes the process of detecting tumor in the mammogram’s images

Project Implementation MethodThis project will be two-fold:
- A hardware device capable of instant and accurate breast cancer detection.
- Improving existing technique to automate breast cancer detection through mammograms.
This project will automatically detect and give a result in terms of a “percentage of chance”. As it will be dealing with visual imagery, the branch of deep learning to be used will be Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN).
Benefits of the ProjectBreast cancer has the second highest mortality rate in women next to lung cancer. As per clinical statistics, 1 in
every 8 women is diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Smart Buddy can detect breast cancer among
women by simply wearing it. It'll be much cheaper and easy to access than mammograms
The project is a combination of hardware and software. The hardware part is development of smart shirt with
integrated Ultrasonic, InfraRed and Thermal sensors. Based on the collected data from the smart shirt, the
software application will used Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to detect and predict breast cancer.
