Safety and security is one of the main concerns of any organization to avoid any obstruction in their usual tasks. Therefore, the human detection is the very initial step to be performed in each field like surveillances, abnormal behavior detection, crowd analysis and etc. The aim of the proposed system is to provide secure environment which can applicable in a any organization using Raspberry pi and RFID tags. Through them only authorized persons can enter into the area, they will be provided with the RFID and will be registered in our database and then can be tracked easily as the person associated with the organization is registered so there would be an area free of unauthorized persons as he cannot enter the particular area ,if he do so an alert will be generated to the management and if an authorized person perform an unusual activity or stealing of any personal belonging or any object he can be tracked easily through RFID and the footage would be taken from the integrated camera. If an authorized person forgets to bring his integrated card with RFID he will be detected through image thus risk of unusual activities automatically minimizes. The project will be based on website Application and Mobile Application which will be connected with the integrated cameras and hardware module.

Project Objectives

Therefore, the main objective of the project is the automatic identification of people for security purposes. An effective solution for enhancing monitoring and control capabilities based on the analysis of images taken and identifying through smart card. The aim of the proposed project is,

  1. To develop a system including mobile and web application for detecting the persons in videos and in cameras.
  2. Person can be tracked easily with in the organization.
  3. ALert will be generated if the existenceof any unauthorized one is found .It will generate an alert and will notify the nearest guard or the management.

It can be implemented in any organization for the security purposes and to make it intruders free. This project will be based on Raspberry pi camera, integrated web application and RFID tags mainly.

Agile Methodology will be used  for the system development life cycle

Website Application:

For the development of Web Application a Java Web framework will be used named Spring. With Spring, developers can create loosely coupled modules where-in dependencies are handled by the framework rather than depending on the libraries in the code. Spring framework is exhaustive and covers a lot of features including security and configuration, which are easy to learn. 

Mobile Application:

For the development of Web Application a Java Web framework will be used named Ionic. It is an open-source and easy to use cross-platform app development framework. The fact that the framework allows developers to embed default UI elements. This in a way enables them to focus more on development and less on designing. For developers that have hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Hardware Module:

Hardware module consist of Raspberrypi for controlling integrated with camera for continous monitoring, Micro SD card to retain data and WIFI module for uninterrupted wireless communication.

  1. Initially we will define the complete in and out scope of our system and design mockups for better understanding of the system.
  2. Then we will document all the requirement in the SRS and design UML diagrams of the system. Complete ERD to understand the flow of the system.
  3. Then the implementation of backend development and database will be done.
  4. Implementation of hardware module.
  5. Then designing of web and Mobile Application.
  6. And then we will have fully functional surveillance system.
