This project aims to develop an online intranet SIBA CMS (Campus Management System) 2.0 Mobile application. The proposed of this application that can be accessed throughout the institution by students. The application is used by the students to monitor their grades, attendance, fees, remaining dues, and manage some other activities through the mobile app such as, Semester freeze and Subject withdrawal. Currently, the students are using the application SIBA CMS 1.0 that provides limited features, but the application does not have any functionality of showing the fees, absence warning, remaining dues, subject withdraws, semester freeze. Moreover, it is incompatible with IOS devices, and the GUI is not designed for following the HCI (Human-computer Interaction) perspective. Therefore, to overcome the flaws of previous work, the concept of SIBA CMS version 2.0 is being proposed. In this project, we will develop an IOS and Android Application from scratch using the latest technology Flutter. In this proposed app there will be two interfaces, one for students and the other for Admin. The main feature of our project is Showing grades like GPA and CGPA, Remaining Semester Fees, subject withdrawal, result, enrolled courses, and absences as well as getting a notification on absences warning and on marked absent, and a feedback portal for students. We believe that our system will solve the students’ problems and bring innovation to the campus.
We have observed the current SIBA CMS application and determined that it possesses some unlike features and properties that do not match with it such as it does not have cross-platform so, IOS users are unable to use it and its GUI is not clear as colors combination is not in accordance with short-sightedness.Our project’s objective is to make user friendly GUI and add other features such as:
1: Student attendance status: It will display the status of students' attendance. The administrator will update the Attendance regularly, and students will be able to check it.
2: Student’s performance in exams: This facility provides the performance of the student in exams, which is conducted by the university such as midterm performance. Marks obtained by students in exams will be updated by faculties that can be accessed by students.
3: Finance: It shows the student's fees that have been paid as well as how much is still owed. if the student has not paid the entire fees.
4: Notification: The student receives an alert message regarding their absences, as well as an exam result also notified them of an event which is organized by the university.
5: Subject Withdraw: Students Can apply for subject Withdraw
The project implementation is divided into phases where each achieves a milestone and deliveres the result.
1. Requirement analysis and planning: At this phase we have already analyzed requirements and planned to carry the project. we break down our project in components and set specific deadline for the every part of project.
2. Design and prototype: This is our first phase of project in which we have comple the SRS and SDS with 30% implementation.
3. System Implementation: after completing the Design and prototype, now we are entering into this phase in which we will complete remain 70% of work and deliver fully functionality corss platform app.
4. System testing : after complete System implementation, we will go for System testing with Appium Automation perform unit, component, GUI, integration an acceptane testing.
5. System Deployment : at this stage, we will deploy database to MySQL, NodeJs and Flutter App on google playstore and Apple store.
6. System Maintenance : The deployed project will be maintained by ICT team in the future.
The development methodology used by our project would be an incremental prototype model. It’s a systems development method (SDM) and useful for enterprise software that has many modules and components which may be loosely related to one another. In incremental prototyping, separate small prototypes are built in parallel. The individual prototypes are evaluated and refined separately, and then merged into a comprehensive.
This application is useful for the Sukkur IBA students as they are facing many problems in current SIBA Cms application such as IOS users cannot access this application, it is only accessible for Android users. The application only shows the status of fees whether it is remaining or not, it is unable to tell how much fees are remaining and there are two warnings for absences first we get on 4th absent and 2nd warning we get on 6th absent so, students have difficulty to maintain the attendance because the current app does not show any notification of warnings. So, our updated application will overcome these problems and beneficial for the students of Sukkur IBA University.
The final deliverable of our proposed system would be a fully tested android and IOS mobile
application . The appliction will be hosted on google playstore with its data lying on MySQL
database.Users will need a mobile with internet Connection for utilizing various feature of application
such as Attendance , Result , progress , enrolled courses , notifiaction ,apply for withdraw etc.
The application will be built on following Tech Stack :
Frontend - Flutter
Database - MySQL
Backend - NodeJs/Expressjs
Application will be access by sukkur IBA Students only.
For IOS users need IOS version 9 & above. Android users need API 19 and above.
All Students can use application for accessing their acedemic information.Students will have a valid
cms-id and pasword to access the application .
