Project Summary

In traditional networking there are several problems and technical issues which we are facing in today's life. The major issue in traditional networking is security measures.  There is a lot of traffic in the WAN network. We are unable to share the big data and face many challenges to control high bandwidth traffic.  In today's world we have difficult to manage and control networks and we are unable to troubleshoot easily the vulnerabilities or problems of the network. There are limited features provided by the traditional network. Alot of challenges will occur during the configuration of network systems.

An SD-WAN uses a centralized control mechanism to direct traffic across the WAN safely and intelligently. This improves the efficiency of software and offers a high-quality user interface, contributing to improved company growth, agility and reduced IT costs. The conventional WAN is no longer sufficient primarily because backhauling all traffic from branch offices to the headquarters, including that intended for the cloud, creates latency and impairs the efficiency of the application.

Project Objectives

It is a platform which will provide the facility to WAN network such as:

  • Centrally provision 

  • Manage the whole network on center point

  • Provide the security measurement  

  • Monitor all the network traffic and uses

  • Control the data traffic and sites of network 

  • Report all the network traffic and everything of network

  • Troubleshooting the issues of network easily

  • Boost up the network traffic

Project Implementation Method

Organization is completely dependent on the project. All the controller devices will be embedded in the organization and the main head of controller will be placed in this organization so that we can control the sub branches easily.

Sub Branches is the sub campus/organization in which edge devices are installed/deployed.

We use two types of ISP: first is MPLS and second one is the internet. ISP will provide the transport for our routing/traffic.  

We will use two service providers for the first GCP it will be used for the test purpose of our Project and second AWS is used for deployment of our main servers and edge devices.

  • Comprehensive policy management: An SD-WAN management console solution can ensure that IT teams manage and enforce universal policies across thousands of devices and applications, including across multiple locations, from protection to application filtering.
  • Flexible connection options: SD-WAN makes it possible to easily route traffic over several networks, including not only current MPLS circuits, but also via LTE and broadband to the public Internet. The result is a more successful approach to managing WAN access and overhead by using broadband solutions that are more versatile and often cheaper.
  • Direct cloud access: SD-WAN provides direct access to critical cloud applications for users located far from headquarters.
  • Next-generation security: Every SD-WAN-enabled branch with local Internet access expands its attack surface. Look for a solution with multiple security features, including IPS, Web-Filtering and high-speed.
  • Friendly user interface: operate the all vEdge device & configure all policy in one dashboard.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable is the software in which we can handle the WAN network easily at one centrilized point. This platform which will provide SDN approach to centrally provision, manage, security, monitor, report and troubleshoot your WAN network. This software/controler will be implement on multiple vender cloud which will be provide the wide area network.
