Project ObjectivesSmart IoT devices are now everywhere. They facilitate our daily lives by communicating, sharing data and performing necessary operations resulting in privacy and security concerns for businesses, governments and smart cities. There is an immense need to protect these smart devices from cyber-attacks.
Project Implementation MethodRIoTS would be a handy device, that is easy to use, carry, configure and upgrade. Moreover, the proposed solution can easily be merged with any existing security solution in place and is not costly. It would not share any user data with the vendor, thereby making it trustworthy and easily adoptable.
Benefits of the ProjectIoT devices have become quite ubiquitous and are used in homes and corporations. If compromised, they might help attackers get hold of sensitive data, private information and a lot more. RIoTs would preferably help protect smart cities with multiple IoT devices along with smart offices and buildings.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableRIoTs will be placed at the gateway so that entire information exchanged and generated by the smart IoT devices passes through it. It would be able to detect anomalous ingress and egress traffic using pre-trained machine learning algorithms which would detect cyber-attacks like scanning, DoS, spoofing, unauthorized access, privilege escalation and password attacks etc. This way RIoTS would help ensure data privacy and security by protecting the entire smart city network comprising of smart IoT devices.
