The aim of this project work is to design and fabricate a reversed bending testing machine which can be used to measure fatigue damage of various materials. Fatigue is the progressive, localized, permanent structural change that occurs in materials subjected to fluctuating stresses and strains that may result in cracks or fracture after a sufficient number of fluctuations. Fatigue fractures are caused by the simultaneous action of cyclic stress, tensile stress and plastic strain. If any one of these three is not present, fatigue cracking will not initiate and propagate.
Using Reversed Bending testing machine, we will obtain S-N diagram of different materials to observe fatigue damage and to have realistic design data.
To observe the behavior at the surface of the material under reversed bending loading.
To observe short crack initiation and propagation at the surface of the material which will produce by reversible bending loading
Usually the purpose of a fatigue test is to determine the lifespan that may be expected from a material subjected to cyclic loading, however fatigue strength and crack resistance are commonly sought values as well. The fatigue life of a material is the total number of cycles that a material can be subjected to under a single loading scheme. A fatigue test is also used for the determination of the maximum load that a sample can withstand for a specified number of cycles. All of these characteristics are extremely important in any industry where a material is subject to fluctuating instead of constant forces.
The normal bending machine bend the material in 90 c. the reverse bending machine bend the material 90 c, 45 c, 60 c and also calculate the fatigue mechanical properties of the material.
Using Reversed Bending testing machine, we will obtain S-N diagram of different materials to observe fatigue damage and to have realistic design data.
The cost of this machine is low.
We can observe the behavior at the surface of the material under reversed bending loading.

This has forced the industrial sector to manufacture more and more products every day. The reverse fatigue testing machine is used for easily ending the material at any degree like 90 C, 60 C, 45 C.
