This project is about the rescue and surveillance robot that will perform different tasks in different terrains and will have multiple applications. In this modern era, it is difficult for human beings to explore the environments in different conditions such as night vision, earthquakes, firefighting, objects, and its range detection and security surveillance, so for that purpose, this robot will help regarding the exploration of such conditions and will perform tasks accordingly. The robot uses the concept of rocker and bogie, which is used in modern robot designs.

The robot will be consisting of different mechanical and electronic parts including motors, motor drivers, controlling modules, cameras and all of these parts will be interfaced with the help of Python and AI algorithms. For multiple task performance, the following sensor will be used to read the data from different environments such as Temperature sensor, Sound sensor, Ultrasonic sensor, Range finder sensor, and Gyroscope. The robot will have a high definition camera, as well as a thermal imaging camera for the different object recognition in real-time, live streaming with the help of AI algorithms. The overall structure provides an ability to survive and operate in rough and rocky areas. 

Project Objectives

1. To provide a robust and low-cost robot that provides a range of options to rescue departments
for multiple operations. As it is easily controlled via graphical user interface GUI so there is less
effort on training the end-user.
2. To  provide firefighter awareness about the operation area, then it takes a decision as per
the situation
3. To recognize the situation through sensors and perform operations in automatic mode. A firefighter can put the robot in auto mode like an autopilot.
4. To provide an ideal platform for monitoring the security situation and surveillance in both
urban and rough terrain remote areas through live video streaming.
5. To reduce the risk of casualties during war in day and night as the robot has an ability to perform
the operation in night time using thermal imaging camera and object detection.

Project Implementation Method

The implementation method of this project will be as follows:
1.       We will do a Literature Review to find the best design and technologies to work with our
robot. 
2.       Python Learning will be a part to implement the Ai and do coding for the robot.
3.       We will design chassis using 3D Modelling software Solidworks.
4.       Sensors Interfacing will be done with Raspberry Pi 4. 
5.       All the sensors and motors will be interfaced together to design the Algorithm for the robot to
work properly.
6.       Hardware Assembly of all the components with the chassis to get the robot working
7.       Experimental Testing in different terrains
8.       Final Prototype of the robot using the Steel chassis

Benefits of the Project
  1. Helps firefighters to recognize the situation: There has been the establishment of modern that sophisticated industries throughout the world. The fire threats are also rising day by day with growth in the industrial sphere. Regulation of such Hazards is a highly technical task and can be achieved only if there is sufficient know-how.
  2. Provides surveillance of mountainous areas: A smart surveillance robot for military applications with the help of this robot we know the real-time condition of the border area without using any human source. The surveillance robot gives us live streaming video according to that we give the command the robot
  3. Helps to survey the area for law enforcement agencies: Survey Robot, also referred to as ROVER SURVEY ROBOT is being designed keeping in mind the complexities that are involved in present techniques of area measurement and land survey. Works in day and night. A night vision camera can receive illumination either by amplifying the visible light using image intensifiers or using infrared light directly by objects – thermal imaging or infrared light reflected by objects-near infrared illumination.
  4. Helps bomb disposal squad in dangerous conditions: Of their many applications, bomb disposal is one of the most hazardous, where the risk of death lurks with every move. Bomb disposal robots have been used to safely disable explosive ordnance
  5. Detects smoke, measures temperature, humidity, object range, Obstacle avoidance: A flame detector is designed to detect and respond to the presence of a flame or fire. The system that incorporates inertial sensor information into optical flow computations to detect obstacles and to provide alternative navigational paths free from obstacles.
  6. Artificial intelligence-based camera for object and human facial recognition: Using Blender and Python to test our vision algorithm along with our control strategy. The result, which was promising, can be found. We randomly shake the input image to test the robustness of our approach.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Design: The robot has full capability to work in rough and mountainous areas, this is because of
its versatile design. The design is based on the concept of Rocker and Bogie structure which is
specially used in modern robots.
Powerful Micro-Controller: The brain of the robot is raspberry pi 4, which is the most powerful and
robust controller. The Controller provides high-end processing for Ai algorithms and Wi-Fi
connectivity for live video streaming and real-time images.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Robot camera capture the videos and images using AI, it can detect
the objects in real-time videos and images and also can differentiate between them using AI
algorithms.
Python platform: As the robot is controlled using Raspberry Pi so we use python language to
program it. Python is most effective for special tasks so it is ideal for our platform
Environment awareness: Platform is specially designed for recognizing the environment
conditions, it measures temperature, detects smoke, finds range using laser range finder, and
detects different objects.
Nighttime Operations: The platform provides day and night vision ability using high definition
and a thermal imaging camera.
Tablet Remote Controller: The robot is controlled by a tablet controller using human-machine
interface HMI which is user-friendly.
