Project Summary

The world keeps moving towards new technologies and in our FYP we also tried to contribute to new that is Augmented reality (the advanced version of computer vision). We worked on AR and also kept in touch with 3d modeling. Here we are introducing our augmented-based website by which customers or users can try different products on themselves as well as can also see 3d models of those products. Augmented reality is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory, and olfactory. How augmented reality will work in our project we will access the front camera of the users’ device and our product will appear on the customer’s body this will lead them to choose what product they want to purchase. Then another plus point is that they can also see the 3d view of our products. Our website can actually give our customers the exact taste of real shopping like when we go to shops, hold products and go through all the minor details that we want to buy. Our website is also user-friendly that gives an interactive look to attract and fascinates new customers.
 

Project Objectives

The world is day-by-day shifting toward augmented reality technology and we are also living in a pandemic due to Covid-19 because of which we are forced to interact less with people and we are avoiding crowded places one of which is shopping places so we can’t shop things as we used to shop so here we present an online shopping website “Lastshop” that has augmented reality-based feature that allows our customers to shop their products online but with a little twist now with the help of our website people can see how they look in those products if they look good on them or not. Having an experience that allows the user to see themselves wearing different and multiple products and then allowing them to select their favorite ones can make their online shopping more comfortable and satisfying. Another amazing feature is that if our customers can enjoy the 3D view of our products that make them enjoy shopping more. We are giving our customers the facility to enjoy secure online shopping in which they can also see their buying history, can track their orders, can have a confirmational email with QR code, login facility, 3D view of products, AR models, hey can wear multiple products at the same time. On our admin side, we can do all our crud options so we can increase our productivity. Admin can see all details like all payments done, order details, customer details. Admin can also change order status like pending to reached or complete. Can add new products with their AR and 3D models.

In our FYP we have 4 categories of different products and each contains 10 different items. each item has its own 3d and AR model.

- Necklace
- Earrings
- Glasses
- Tiaras/Crown

Project Implementation Method

firstly, the admin will add products by using the admin panel and all those products can be seen on the website by the customers. Products will be shown category vice on the website. On our website, we have 4 categories(Necklace, Earrings, Tiaras/Crowns, Glasses) with 10 different items (all products have their own AR and 3D model).  Customers can see all the details related to the selected product that they want to see i.e. on sale, discount, description, price,3D view, AR view of single and multiple products at the same time, remaining stock, reviews on that product, etc. If they like the product, they will be able to see themselves wearing that by using the AR button. if they want to buy then simply they will add the product to the cart and will checkout before checkout if they want to see multiple products on them that are in their cart they can see them by selecting those which they want to wear. if they checkout they will fill all the payment requirements and card no with card details but no one can see their personal card data as we have also applied security methods with hashing. after all payment methods customer will receive an order confirmation email with the order tracking id, QR code, and continue shopping button. They can track the order can see its progress of the order by logging in to our website. they can also review their purchased products.
 

Benefits of the Project

can see AR models of products on themselves and they can be sure that they want to buy or not
AR feature will eliminate the return of the product as customers will be fully satisfied with their purchase.
3D view of products will make customers more satisfied as they can see minor details of the product
no return and good reviews will grow the market value of products and will attract other customers.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

used Technologies:

- NEXT JS for serverless architecture [for front and backend render].

- THREE.JS for 3d modeling render

- JavaScript(ECMAScript 6) for making front and backend code.

- Python for open cv implementation.

-Open CV for Augmented Reality implementation.

- Cloudinary for storing web pictures 

- Versal for website Deployment.

- Mail jet for emails

Software used:

 - VS Code for writing all code

- GitHub Desktop for version control, creating branches, pushing code, and making pull requests

- GitHub for storing code files on the master branch.

- Firebase for serverless database and for the specific use of “fire store”.

- 3D Viewer for viewing 3D models.

- 3D Paint for making and viewing 3D models.
