Premises based user access using IoT cloud in smart door chain scheme
With the advancement in technology, everything is being automized and as security is one the most important elements in everyone’s life therefore the need of hour is to develop such a system which can smartly identify and restrict the people coming within the house premises. The usage of smart doors with the additional factor of visitors’ authentication instead of conventional doors ultimately leads to the increased privacy and security of the house. Smart door chain scheme system is a sophisticated and easy way through Bluetooth and WIFI connectivity to identify and verify the visitor’s identity using face recognition process. The house doors are synchronized with each other in the form of chain and are unlocked according to each visitor. A variety of visitors’ information will be already stored in the database and there will be specified categories (Family, Friends or others) according to which door chain will be unlocked. Image captured at runtime will be sent to the cloud for matching purposes and then the chain to unlock will be decided. In this system the security of the house will be enhanced and human effort and interaction with the visitor will be reduced. The system brings better technology to the homes without the cost of more expensive options available in the market. In previous smart door systems, doors are unlocked individually but no door chain concept is studied in them. In SDCSS, door chain is introduced in addition to conventional systems. Moreover, it will also ensure the system security and privacy which is one of the top priorities and demand of any organization.
SDCSS is an IoT-ML based efficient system which provides an optimal solution for breach of privacy by giving access of the premises only to the authorized visitors. For the ease of people the system is fully automated. The main aim of this project is to make people feel more safe and protected in their premises. The objectives of this project are as follow;
The system alarms the unknown visitors who come with the intention of causing some harm to the people within the premises. SDCSS is a source of pleasure and satisfaction for the people worrying about the security of their large as well as small assets. Moreover, the user has a free of time access to add information of new people in to the cloud server for the identification of the unknown on the basis of new record.
Raspberry pi device with operating system raspbian buster is used as main controller or the master of system. In order to attain the scalability and performance, various cloud services are also used in this project. Amazon web services are rendered including AWS rekognitoin and aws S3 storage. Aws collection is formed to store the dataset of two categories, namely friends and family.
Smart door lock chain scheme system works by collecting information of the incoming visitor from the pie camera mounted on the microcontroller. Microcontroller then pass this information on the cloud sever. User’s identity is then verified on the server based on the categories i.e. family, friends and others. After the authentication a chain of doors then unlocked according to the visitor’s category.
Traditionally, physical keys are used to lock or unlock the doors. For every lock, there can only be one unique key. So carrying out a bundle of keys for different locks is clumsy and also increases the chance of misplacing your keys. This mechanism to lock/unlock the door requires a lot of human effort. To overcome this problem a smart doors chain Scheme system will be of great helpful. This system requires no physical keys to lock or unlock the doors. Moreover, it also uses to enhance the security and privacy of the house as security is one of the most important elements in everyone’s life which cannot be compromised at any cost .So to keep the house safe from unknowns or strangers, a smart door chain system restricts the entry of every visitor unless or until they have been recognised by the system.

When the intruder arrives, the camera on the front gate captures the image of the visitor and passes it to the AWS. The image is then compare with the dataset placed on the aws collection and passes the result of comparison to the raspberry pi controller mounted on the main gate. Based on the result received, the controller then decides a value according to the category of the visitor (family, friend, unknown) and passes it to the firebase. Arduino controllers that mounted on every door of the house receives the value from the firebase and then decide whether to unlock the corresponding door or not.
