Point of sale system pos will be designed to help retailer owner to manage his daily task
by adding basic functions add delete and update a record that is provided. Our system is a
web-based point of sale system with some unique features. The system will include four
modules retailer owner, manager, employee, the customer. Now a day’s retailer owner is
worried because sometimes there is a drastic change in the product so it is difficult to
predict future units but we will provide a platform that will help them that how much stock he
needs to save. Secondly, if the customer buys something and he forgets some related
product with it by using market basket analysis our system will recommend all necessarily
related products it will help both customers by increasing his sales and customer by telling
related product and save his time. Thirdly if there are certain products and certain products
get out of stock beyond a certain limit then there will be an alert notification shown to
the retailer owner and employee that buys this product otherwise you will be going out of stock
from this product. The features that I discuss above are new to the market and it will help a
lot for retailer owners if we compare these features with the existing web-based system
 

Project Objectives

As the existing system available provides the user with limited functions, this project will
therefore include enhanced and more flexible features for the store. The Objectives
included in the system are:
1. To create a system that will add, delete and update records.
2. To generate daily, monthly and weekly reports on sales.
3. To provide stock notifications when your products are out of stock or go beyond
a certain limit.
4. To create an intelligent point of sale system that can use sale forecasts to predict the
units of products.
5. To implement market basket analysis which helps the retailer to suggest the related
product to its customers.
6. To provide more efficient handling of goods in the store.
7. The intelligent point of sale system that includes the specified offers to the most
returning customers.
8. To provide a system that will show an alert when a certain product goes beyond a certain
limit.
9. To generate receipt
 

Project Implementation Method

A POS is used where the customer makes a payment for products he needs. This includes
hardware components such as a monitor and terminal with a touch screen, a bar-code
scanner, a printer, a credit card terminal, and a cash box. When a customer arrives at a
counter with a product to buy a new sales transaction will be initiated by the cashier. When
the bar code of a product is read at the point of sale, the name and price of this product will
be retrieved from the back-end catalogue system and the inventory system will interact to
deduce the stock quantity of this product. The customer can pay when the selling transaction
is over. A receipt will be imprinted after the payment is successful. There are a lot of point-of sale systems in the market but sometimes there is a change in product units, which is difficult
for the retailer owner to calculate the number of product units he needs because of drastic
change. That is why retailer owner is worried and the prediction of future sales is needed in
Point-of-Sale systems which is not yet implemented, manage customer purchase history,
Immediate Low Stock Notifications, track employee’s sales while analyzing on top and
market basket analysis that is needed in Point-of-Sale system which is not yet implemented.
This web-based application is based on the management of the organization’s stock. The
application includes the general company description, the distribution information, the
purchase details, and the outstanding stock which are presented in the company. This
application further points out the outstanding value of the stock as well as the specifics of the
value of the sale. Every new stock shall be produced and entitled to the name and the date of
entry of that stock, and may also be changed at any time as required by the purchase or if the
sale is returned. This web-based application of the linked market basket analysis rule mining,
allows the retailer to recommend the relevant commodity to customers. This method
creates an intelligent point-of-sale method that can forecast the quantity required to
support store owners with potential stocks. This intelligent point-of-sale application has
features that it can easily manage the stock by giving a notification alert that this item is
going to end soon. Sales and customer satisfaction can be increased by market basket
analysis. By means of data, retailers can optimize the placement of their products, or special
deals, and create new product bundles to encourage the further sales of the combinations.
In developing a retail store sales forecast, one of the most crucial retail store operations
activities, POS data is particularly relevant a reliable revenue forecast will assist you in assessing and setting the goals for your costs income and potential growth for the Retail
Store.

– System will be showing the remained quantity of items in the shops stock.
– System will allow the retailer owner to freeze items that are no longer available.
– POS will allow a retailer owner to remove an employee who is no longer a part
of the store.

We are making a web-based point of sale system the deliverables of our project are:
1. First we have submitted our project proposal document.
2. the Second deliverable is the Login panel with authentication.
3. Third separate dashboard for each user.
4. Database set up to store all the information.
