Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThis is a portable Bluetooth printer interfaced with a microcontroller-based system. A user can send a message to the printer from his mobile laptop or tablet. An application will be used to send a message to the printer. An application will be used to send the message to the microcontroller-based system using Bluetooth signals. We will be using Laser printing technology. The printer’s laser, beams your print onto a metal cylinder called a drum. Using static electricity, the drum attracts powdered toner from its cartridge to the drum. The drum rolls the toner onto the paper in the form of your print. The toner is melted onto the paper by heat from a fuser as it passes underneath and then you have your print. In our project, we just have to put the printer on the surface and it will automatically move and print. It will print in a straight line because we will use motors connected to a microcontroller and use parallel alignment so there is no chance of error. Our printer will be lightweight, compact, durable, and user-friendly. Normal printers we see every day have a print head running left and right on a moving piece of paper. Our main objective is to get rid of the entire device and just put the print head on small wheels and let it movie on the piece of paper. By doing so, we will be able to make it as little as possible. It will have a rechargeable battery with an on/off switch, it connects directly to smartphones and to PCs, and it will allow the user to print easily on different Materials.
Project ObjectivesThe main objective of this printer is to make printing available anywhere and making
it easy and fun to use. You can see students, lawyers, teachers or entrepreneurs working efficiently in their homes and office but are struggling to find a place to print. There are different shops in different areas and its difficult to find a printing shop especially if you’re in a new area.
Normal printers we see every day have a printhead running left and right on a moving piece of paper. Our main objective is to get rid of the entire device and just put the printhead on small wheels and let it movie on the piece of paper. By doing
so, we will be able to make it as little as possible. It will have a rechargeable battery with an onoff switch, it connects directly to smartphones and to PCs, and it will allow the user to print easily on different Materials.
As we all know that we are moving toward an era where technology will take place of everything. We thought we should also contribute something in it. So we are going to create a mobile printer that is easy and fun to use, can be taken anywhere, prints from any device that has Bluetooth such as laptop, tablet, smartphones.
Project Implementation MethodOur system makes use of a micro controller-based circuitry interfaced with a printer to achieve this purpose. System makes use of an application to transmit the text data, images and documents to be printed through the printer. The data is first transmitted to the circuitry by the app which is received wirelessly through the Bluetooth module. This data is then received by micro controller and processed to transfer it to the portable Bluetooth mini printer. The controller then processes data received and achieves the printing as per user’s requirement. Now for the design, we will start from hardware development that includes a printhead which will move on the paper. We will use a raspberry pi and connect motors with it and then program it in such a way that the printer moves at the exact desired location and for precise movement, stepper motor will be used. The printer is activated by sliding a hatch at the bottom of the printer. The USB connection for battery charging is also located on the bottom of the device. The cartridge lasts for over 50 printed pages and the battery lasts for over one hour per full charge. Our printer is based on a wheel system that allows it to accurately turn and drive in desired direction. The printer will be designed in a comprehensible manner in order to help the user place the printer properly at the top of the page and guarantee an accurate outcome.

Technical details of the project are as follow:
- System uses an application to transmit the data to the printer.
- The data is first transmitted to the circuitry by the app which is received wirelessly through the Bluetooth module.
- This data is then received by micro controller and processed to transfer it to the portable Bluetooth printer.
- The controller then processes the data received and achieves the printing as per user’s requirement.

It will be able to print 20 pages per cartridge and its battery will last for 1 hour per full charge.

This is the vague idea of what our final product is going to look like. It will print 1 page in 1.2 minutes.

It will be 3.5 inches in width and 8 inches in length and about 3 inches in height.

All the mechanical will be fitted on an aluminum sheet because its durable and heat resistant.
