Project Summary

The project aspires to shine light on how much beneficial it can be to maintain patient history and patient disease severity level. The Appointment process will use biometrics to register patient and a form-based documentation system shall be catered to save patient history. Vitals such as Heart-rate, Blood Pressure, temperature and other important information shall be catered through the use of sensors while documentation portal shall be produced to create a search and review record history. The work-flow of desired system shall have following scenarios;

  • Doctor Profile:
    • Doctor’s qualification and Basic information.
    • Patient Allocation against doctor for appointment.
    • Doctor’s quality rating per patient history/checkup.
  • New Patient:
    • Bio-Metric Scan for Profiling.
    • Initial Vital sign collection of patient.
    • Entry of Previous Ailments.
    • Information of previous surgeries and traumas.
    • Patient appointed on base of waiting patients and doctor slot/health department.
  • Existing Patient:
    • Patient appointment on base of request.
    • Current health issue saved along-with appointment.
    • Patient-History along with current health issue posted to doctor on call for respective date.
    • New Entry of Patient History added on day of checkup along with current Vitals and Attendance.
    • Request of patient for change of doctor along with remarks/comments also recorded in profiling system.
  • Doctor Remarks:
    • Doctor posts remarks and prescription against posted patient summary.
    • Prescriptionandreferenceinsertedinsystemandshallbecomputerizedforrecord keeping against every patient history entry.

Project Objectives

The objectives of Patient Scheduling System are as follows:

  • To develop a system that allows users to have control over their appointment making service.
  • To facilitate the patients with real time healthcare scheduling.
  • To manage staff resources needed for managing appointments.
  • To maximize operation hours.
  • To make the use of online platform for less customer inconvenience and high productivity among staff.
  • To optimize time savings and monetary savings as both staff time and service translate into expenses and revenue.

Project Implementation Method

The patient will book appointment online using the website. There is a form to be filled. The personal details will be saved for later purposes as well. If a patient is booking appointment more than one time than its personal details will be automatically gathered upon entering either the cell number or MR number. Doctor and the time for appointment will be of the patient’s choice.

Upon arrival in the hospital on the appointment date, the patient will be checked in for the appointment by the staff present at the front desk. He will pay the fee and will be provided with MR number if new patient. The information of patient is searched for check in either through biometric or search bar.

After being checked in, the vital signs (temperature, spo2, heart rate) of patient will be measured using the sensors. Then the patient will enter the waiting queue for checkup.

The form of patient will be opened in front of doctor’s screen upon patient’s arrival in the room. The vital records and history are already shown if the patient is coming for review. But if it’s a new patient then the fields will be filled by the doctor. He will insert the patient’s history along with the diagnosis and prescription.

If the patient arrive in case of emergency such as accidents etc. then the patient record will be fetched through biometric.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final product is software and hardware integrated system.

The software part is the website using which the patient will book their appointment and the portal that is used by the hospital or clinics.

The hardware part is the sensors used for biometric and vital signs measurement.

The website is built using Angular JS framework on Visual Studio Code.

The backend coding is done on MVC using .NET and C#.

Database is created in MS SQL Server.

The sensors are connected using raspberry pi and coding is done on python.
