The project named Online Health Assistance System is about providing health facility to local people. Our main idea is to allow people to detect the disease which they might be having through our system online. After the disease is being predicted, the user can consult with doctor of that category through online chat if the doctor is available. This is a great platform for people living in remote areas to get a doctor of their desire in their hand. People can get appointment from any doctor, if doctor think the issue is serious and cannot be resolved through online chat. It is also a big help to the people who spent hours waiting for their appointment just to get few minutes guidance from the doctor. Providing public the facility of finding out what disease they might be suffering from is also a big help as people neglect the health condition by not visiting doctors. Also visiting doctors in normal cases is quite frustrating for people, so OHAS disease prediction can really provide relief to them.

Project Objectives

To design a system that will allow people to detect disease and to communicate with the doctors online, so that they can get easy guidance from the doctors after they predict the disease.

Project Implementation Method

The OHAS uses Data Mining technique known as Naive Bayes for the module 1 which is Disease Prediction from given symptoms. OHAS involves a disease dataset taken from Kaggle.com. It will select those symptoms that have the highest probability and display the disease based on those symptoms.

The OHAS uses C# for the construction of database for module 2 which is the Doctor’s platform for the users. The data of the users and doctors are stored in SQL Server Management Studio 2014. All the appointment history from both the user’s side and the doctor’s side are all stored in SQL Server Management Studio 2014. For the Chat module SignalR library of .NET is used as it is quite useful for real time chat and for the Appointment module, simply the CRUD methodology is used.

Benefits of the Project

Providing people the facility to predict disease through our system. This will reduce the efforts of visiting the doctors in normal cases. Also the Doctor's platform is given where several doctors can provide consultancy to people through online chat and appointments. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In OHAS, user will select clusters of the available symptoms and those selected clusters will act as the given input to the system. The system is trained and evaluated on the Dataset provided to the system. The selected symptoms from the given dataset are employed to predict the presence of disease, the user is suffering from. The system uses naive bayes algorithm in order predict disease based on selected symptoms. The system has also a module for Doctor's platform where user after predicting the disease can consult with the doctor through OHAS real time chat module and appointment module. OHAS will follow the 3 Tier Architecture. At the presentation layer which include the Graphical User Interface of OHAS. The Application layer contains the core logic of the OHAS and finally the Data Access layer includes the database management of the OHAS which is SQL Server.
