Now a days where outfitted burglary has gotten progressively modern especially in creating nations, there is the requirement for more tightly security means, and one of the most verified advances that can be utilized is biometrics and finger print lock. For this very purpose this biometrics project focuses on unique finger impression acknowledgement and the methods through which such a system can be implemented in practical scenarios. Fingerprint Sensor: Over the last few centuries or so, people have developed a large number of biometrics devices. Using finger print sensor module GT511C3 optical finger print sensor we can get images of fingerprints that can be further processed by the module using powerful inbuilt ARM cortex M3 IC. Apart from serial communication the module can also be directly interfaced to computer through the USB. Further the data can be transferred to matlab environment for the reason of processing. Face Recognition: The human ability to recognize faces is important to engineer because of the widespread reliance placed on photo I.D. Driver’s licenses, passports and other kinds of identity cards aren’t only used to control entry to computer rooms directly, they are also used to bootstrap most other systems. Yet face recognition is already the second largest selling biometric with a nominal 19% of the market. However, much of this relates to the automated storage of facial images that can be compared by humans. In face recognition, the software will not only detect the face but will also recognize the person. Now, it should be clear that we need to perform face detection before performing face recognition. Also, our project aims to read the fingerprints and thumb impression from hardcopy or page by taking the picture of the page and then processing the picture through matlab. Optical Mark Recognition: Optical Mark Recognition is the process of reading data from specialized forms and storing it into the computer system. The data to be interpreted is in the form of markings such as dashes, dots, ticks, darkened circles, etc. An OMR form is passed through an OMR reader, which identifies the marked areas, extracts the information, and stores it in separate files. Optical Mark Recognition is a technology that uses a special device called Optical Mark Reader to detect the presence or absence of marks on a specially printed paper called OMR form. This technology is usually used if bulks of data, especially answers to MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions), are to be gathered and processed in a short period of time. For instance, when the answer sheets of competitive exams held on a larger scale, need to be a evaluated within a few days’ time, OMR technology comes to help. How OMR Scanner Works:

How OMR Scanner Works:

- To take the thumb impression or fingerprint through the module and then send the real-time data to Matlab environment for further processing
- To take the picture of the face of a person through the module and then send the real-time picture to the Matlab environment.
- Android app development

- Microcontroller is used for interfacing of the fingerprint sensor and to control the other auxiliaries within the system.
- LCD displays the prompt and information to the user. It is connected to Arduino through I2C to make the number of wires less.
- Keypad provides the interface to the user and takes input.
- For the demonstration purpose, electric lock is connected through a relay.
- There is a built-in searching and matching mechanism in the device, the algorithm of which is not disclosed by the manufacturer.
- Once the searching completed, the electric lock would get opened.
